    My Trip Report

Quick trip report... Stayed at The Orleans for 2 nights (comped) starting 5/24 and then 3 nights at Main Street Station (for the price of $27/night).

    - I played mostly video poker, but did also do live poker, slots, blackjack, some craps, and some sports betting.
    - I went with my friend "T" who also likes to gamble and drink, but also at a low-roller pace.
    - Mostly we played quarter video poker, but I did go as high as 50 cent VP and dollar VP here or there.
    - My goal was to play mostly at The Boyd properties: Orleans, Gold Coast, Main Street Station, California, The Fremont, and Sam's Town. (Suncoast is another in Vegas, but they recently downgraded their VP tables, so I avoided it this trip.)
    - I managed to rack up an average of 5,000 points per day. Started with 25,000 points on my card, and ended with slightly over 50,000 points. I suppose I will maintain Sapphire status when my initial 25,000 expire.
    - Quad count over the 5 days: 22. (Most on quarter, but 4 of them on 50 cent and 1 of them on dollars.)
    - Straight flush count over the 5 days: 1 (and it was dealt, at Main Street Station bar).
    - Royal flush count over the 5 days: 1. My very first! It took me SIXTEEN (16) trips to get it. Picture is attached. I got the progressive royal at Sam's Town for $1,135. (!!!)
    - My favorite place to play remains Main Street Station, at the bar. Very tasty microbrews. Good bartenders.
    - They still have the scratch card promotion for each quad there (at MSS, even on the floor, too). However, all 9 of my scratch cards were for only $2.
    - Their microbrews still have the regular ones, plus this trip I had an oatmeal stout (very good), a "California Cowboy Breakfast Porter" (excellent, multiple flavor notes), and a very sour VIPA beer (likeable, if you don't mind sour beer).
    - A VP game I liked a lot on the floor is "Aces No Faces" which gives you a bonus for 1-4 dealt aces, as long as there is no face card (J, Q, K). Four aces dealt with "no face" is 7,500 quarters (more than the royal). No, I didn't get that.
    - In addition to my previously-stated luck at Sam's Town, my buddy and I also played their cheap 10am poker tournament ($23) and made the final table and with 7 players remaining, we decided to chop the pot. $93 for each of the 7.
    - I played enough at Boyd properties and also used ACG coupons that all my meals were comped (Orleans buffet, Ellis Island cafe, MSS buffet, Sam's Town buffet, 777 Brewpub at MSS).

Overall, a good time. Looking forward to trip #17, possibly in the fall, but if not, then in 2015! Thanks for reading!

Great trip report - thanks for posting. I also enjoy playing at Boyd casinos (mainly The California, Gold Coast, Orleans and Main Street Station), but I plan on a long session at Sam's Town and possibly will hit the bonus deluxe games that still exist at Suncoast on their respective point multiplier days.

Congrats on the Royal. BTW, we're you impressed with the Orleans? During our trip last week, we had two meals and gambled there on separate days. We loved the atmosphere and impressed with the friendliness of the dealers and employees, enough to consider staying there a few days.

Yes, I did like The Orleans. The 2-night comp I had helped. There is also a free shuttle bus that goes to The Strip (Ballys area) and then continues on to The Gold Coast, which makes it a little easier to casino hop. The rooms there are a little nicer than most downtown rooms, too.
