How much money to lose on slots? :(

Aside from everything else, food, lodging... which will all be on the CC or already paid for how much should I bring for slots?
That is all I enjoy to play and I honestly don't expect a big win, most of our time will be spent playing slots. How much would you suggest allotting for daily spending?

 

It depends how much you're betting and how long you're playing. Betting 3 dollars per spin for 10 hours a day will be a lot more expensive than betting 50 cents per spin for 4 hours.

 

Give yourself a daily budget for slots and go with whatever you find most comfortable for your daily allotment for gaming.

I've been going back and forth on this too. It's been a few years since I've been out to Vegas so I'm having a hard time remembering how much I went through. I typically play quarter machines. Was thinking the $150-$250 per day range. If I'm playing max bet, $0.75-$1.50 per spin I guess, does that sound about right? Will also try to mix in a little Blackjack, $5-$10 per hand depending what I can find.

 

I don't know how to play Blackjack, wish I did.

 

Playing minimum bet on slots all day, I can go through $300 easy.........and I am lucky!

Go with $300/day for slots. It may be gone by early afternoon, or it may last all day and through the night. Good luck!

 

This is certainly true. There's times where I can play off of my first $20 all day due to winning early and often, and other times you can just kiss $100 bills goodbye.

 

Most casinos, especially the MGM/Mlife ones, offer classes on how to play blackjack in the casino where you get to sit with other new players and a dealer will explain how to play the game (and then when done the game becomes "live")

They don't teach you strategy, like when its best to hit or stand, but that you can pick up from a book on gambling or through reading any number of websites.

 

For how to budget: when wife and I are gambling in Las Vegas its usually all day, like 10-14 hours worth, and for us typically what works is to figure out how much we intend to wager per spin (not what credits we will use like penny, nickles, quarters, but how much each spin will cost us) and then multiply that by 700-750 each.

We mostly play low to medium volatility games and find that amount typically gives us the whole days worth of play where ten, eleven or twelve hours later we usually still have some money to work with and at the end of the day there is usually money left over to either set aside to take home or, most often, roll in to the next days budget

And sometimes there are some bad losing streaks, but usually its not so bad because if one of us is taking a beating the other is usually doing OK so we'll divvy up our budgets if somebody starts getting low.

I'm doing roughly $100 per day for slots. If I win, I will put some of the winnings away but continue to play with some. Some nights I expect to get more play out of others. I plan to "lose" (hopefully not) $700 the entire week trip.

 

My wife plays the penny 100 play video poker ($1.00) total bet for one spin.
She puts in about $25 and plays for a few hours all the time gathering points and drinks.

The key with slots (especially the penny slots) is you can bet from 35 cents to $5.00 on the same machine which makes it tough to say how much you will need.

I would say $200 a day for slot would be the minimum if careful and slow play (less than 50 cents a spin) unless playing video poker.

Now if you can stretch that one day budget and roll over the extra cash to the 2nd day and then again the 3rd day it will make things easier each day.
