Nice report! The Beau definitely looks nice, but I'd feel obligated to visit new orleans if I bothered to drive all the way there.

And ugh love bug season! My g/f and I drove to Disney World in the 3rd week of Sept 2010, and we're like, wtf?

Great TR flyguy ! Your photos represented the Beau very well. Did you go to the Beau much when they first opened ? They initially had several (4-6) full grown magnolia trees out in the atrium area but despite their best efforts, they could not keep those trees alive. They were pretty. I remember talking to someonefrom the Beau years ago who told me that they had a 3 million dollar budget for grounds and landscaping each year. That's a lot of flowers. I know you had to have been smiling during that consecutive winning machine run. How could you not when everything you touched turned to gold? Sorry to hear that y'all had to deal with a health issue while down there but I'm glad that getting the medication straightened out seemed to solve the problem. I like the Half Shell also. There is a little neighborhood bar right across the street called Adventures that we like to go visit when we feel like a break from the casino. Overall, it sounds like a fun trip. Thanks for sharing it with us. BTW- I have been having a problem getting on at Biloxi One so I haven't posted anything over there in a while. I am going to be homebound for a while (fell off a ladder and broke my leg bad enough to require surgery) so maybe I can get things fixed. I'll bet that 8.5 hour drive on the way home seems a lot more pleasant when you have some extra money to count. Congratulations.

Damn Diceman. Sorry to hear you had that bad broken leg!! My wife stopped me from climbing tall ladders after I had to hug a queen palm one when the ladder fell and I slid down that sucker and the slide left scars on my arm.

No problem with Biloxi One for me. Maybe something in your cookie selections?
Our first trip to the Beau was in 2001. Our first trip to Biloxi was at the old Imperial palace in 2000 which we combined with a trip to N. O. Have been to the Beau about 40 times via car or junket flight from central or north Florida. I never knew the cost to maintain those plants so thanks for that info. I do recall those trees.

The barges the Beau casino is located on were done right by Wynn. He had large ones weighed down so they were partly underwater and very well restrained. That is why the casino survived Katrina so well with just water damage on the interior.

Thanks for the tip on Adventures. I saw that place and another across the street from it last trip to Half Shell.

This was the first trip we both won and one of the few overall winning trips over the years.

TDB Aces, what was your opinion of the beds at the Beau? I read from another poster that he liked the Beau, but the beds were really hard, to the point of being uncomfortable? Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks...
