Total Rewards just sent me an offer for free nights at Caesars Atlantic City. I've been to AC a few times, but I've never even set foot in that casino before. Anybody ever stayed there? How are the rooms and the casino? How is the entertainment? Is it easy to get to the beach from there? Thanks.

I haven't been to AC since 2008. The Casino was one of the nicer ones on the Boardwalk. The rooms were OK. I don't know if they've been renovated recently.
I'm not a beach person but beach access should be right there off the Boardwalk I'm sure. Can't comment on Entertainment depends on what's available I guess.

They comp me once a year. The best part is that it's right off the Atlantic City Expressway, so whether you're driving in or cabbing it from the AC airport, you won't have to do any local driving. Also, even when I don't reserve a premium room, I can usually talk my way into one at check in. They're roughly the equivalent to Augustus rooms at Caesar's Palace in Vegas.

Also, the property connects to Bally's, which is a cheaper place to eat, drink, and gamble (if you're looking for lower prices and table limits). And yes...Caesar's leads directly onto the Boardwalk, so it's like a one minute walk to the beach itself. Try to get an ocean view instead of a look at their Hooverville shantytown, if you can help it.

Caesars has a new gelato/bristro type of place next to Mia. Never been there but it looks really nice and worth a check out. The restaurants are nice in Caesars. Downstairs casino is smoking / upstairs is non-smoking. Direct access to the Pier shops and restaurants. Don't count on any entertainment; you're not in Vegas.

I've stayed there a bunch of times, its the only place on the Boardwalk I stay because Revel gives me the creeps. Stay in the Centurion or if you can, the Ocean Tower. Are you Diamond? I don't have a ton of experience with CET casinos in Vegas, but in AC they have always been really good about upgrading me at check-in even without asking.

The casino is two floors, from the hotel lobby you enter on the 2nd floor which is smaller and can go down to the main casino floor. The main floor has a bunch of tables including an Asian gaming room full of mini-bacc, pai gow, etc. There is also a good noodle bar right off of that. High limit room is on main floor as well. The 2nd floor has some table pits but they are not always open.

Caesars is connected to The Pier which has a bunch of stores and restaurants. I like everything I've tried there. I'd recommend Buddakan for a hip Asian place, Neros and Souzai are good, there's a Morton's I haven't been to but I assume its the same as Morton's everywhere. Mia is inside Caesars right off the hotel lobby, it is pretty good Italian and the vibe is nice. I think Snidely is mixing it up with Tazza though, the quick service gelato/cafe place across from Mia.

I agree about staying in the Centurion Tower-ask for a corner room facing the Boardwalk. They have a new buffet which is much better than the old one. If you have a diamond card the Diamond Lounge there (and the one at Bally's next door) are great-beautiful room with an ocean view and good food. I don't know what you play but they have recently redone the casino floor and took out all my favorite penny machines so I don't think we will be staying there again any time soon.

Another thumbs up for the Centurion and Ocean Towers. We always ask for a high floor with ocean view and generally get one without a problem or tip. And as was mentioned both Diamond Clubs, Caesar's and Bally's are very, very nice rooms with spectacular views of the beach and ocean. The other nice thing about Caesar's is that it is centrally located and right on the Boardwalk. Don't be afraid to go out and walk the boards, plus there are beach bars in full swing during the summer. Here is the link for Caesar's entertainment schedule. http://www.caesarsac.com/shows.html

A quick funny story. A few years ago we were at the Atlantic City Air Show featuring the Thunderbirds. It was a very hot and humid day so we decided to stay in the room a watch the show from our room. Our room had both a direct ocean view and a beach view through the side window. As we're sitting there watching the end of the Army's Golden Knights Parachute Team performance there was a lull in the show, until.......an a very loud thundering rumble with our room vibrating. Quickly looking out the side window, it was the Thunderbirds making their grand entrance between hotel towers at our floor level. Hell, they were so close you could read the stuff on their flight suits. Very impressive! The Airshow is scheduled for August 13th this year. Here is a link with some tips and a pretty good video. http://blog.achotelexperts.com/atlantic-city-airshow-tips-and-hotel-discounts/

The offer is for July and they just threw in some freeplay as well this morning. I think this is going to be a lot of fun. We've usually gone to AC during the off-season, because it gets kind of pricy in the summer, so this will be new for us. I haven't stayed in any of the higher-end resorts in AC before either. It will be nice to take the experience up a notch.
