    My Trip Report

I took advantage of a TR offer and booked 4 nights at the Flamingo with free tickets to see Shania Twain. I contacted my host and let him know that I was coming and asked if there was anything he could do to upgrade my room as I'm sure it would be a lower level gold room. He was happy to get me a high floor GO room with a strip view.

Tuesday - Got into Vegas at 8:30pm and grabbed a cab to the Flamingo. There was no line up at all. Walked up to platinum check in, got my room cards and confirmation number for Shania Twain tickets for Wednesday night. The GO room was very nice and we had a great view of the strip. We were tired from the flights but wanted to unwind so we went downstairs to play and have a few drinks. I wanted to play multi strike poker which USED to be with the banks of VP machines by the poker room. They were gone. I wasn't a happy camper and wasn't sure what to play. I do like Ultimate X but that can get a little pricey when spending 7.50 a hand on 3 play double double bonus.
I figured I would give it a go. The first hundred....gone before I could order a drink. The second hundred...gone before I had my first sip of my rum and coke. GThe third hundred...gone before my first drink was finished. I thought, alright... so this is how this trip is going to be. Just how far will get bent over before we fly home on Saturday. I pumped another hundred and that lasted a few minutes longer. My head is spinning as I throw in my 5th one hundred dollar bill thinking...what am I doing? Win lose or draw, I'm going to bed with this last hundred input in. I sipped my drink..cursed that machine and called it every name I could think of and might have even invented a few and then, it starts "cooperating". A few 4 of a kinds but nothing major until I get to a 4 card royal. I hold the 4 card potential and talk to the machine like it was a person, telling it that it owed me some love and I hit the deal button and finally, I got what I was looking for. The ace of spades and $1,000.00. By the time I called it a night, I was up $700.00 and happy at how the night turned out.

Wednesday - Woke up the better half and we made it to the GO pool for 9am and got a nice spot close to the pool and had the sun shining on us in no time. Bloody Mary's are on special until 11am for 5.00. Great deal and they love to free pour!
They have replaced the old lounge chairs with new ones and they are very nice. It was a pleasant surprise. At lunch, we cleaned up and went over to Paris for lunch at Mon Ami Gabi as we heard they have a gluten free menu there. The food was very good. A little pricey but very good. For those of you who are celiac or have an intolerance to gluten, I can tell you that they do take special care to ensure your order is prepared properly. I've read on other forms that people have been sick because they were served the wrong bread. Unless your newly diagnosed with celiac, you can tell the difference between regular and gf bread when you pinch it.
After lunch, we walked over to CP to pick up tickets for the Shania Twain concert. When I got to the box office and gave my confirmation number, I asked if they were handing out bottles of oxygen with my seats. The lady looked at me and said sir, you are sitting in orchestra seating 10 rows from the stage. I never expected $250.00 a seat tickets for free from TR. I was impressed!
We went back to the Flamingo to relax before getting ready for the concert. I went back to the same Ultimate X machine as the previous night and while it did eat a few hundred dollars again, it warmed up much quicker and after about an hour, it gave me my 2nd royal flush this trip! I'm now up about 1500.00 for the trip and can't believe my luck.
We went to the concert a little early, found some multi strike VP and lost a couple hundred playing that. We also played some reel slots but that paid nothing. The concert was excellent. Her voice is strong and she sounded great. She is an entertainer and she trys to give people their moneys worth. She went into the crowd a couple of times and allowed people to take selfie pictures with her while she waqs singing. No worry about lip syncing at this concert!

Thursday - We rented a Cabana at the GO pool. Before memorial day weekend, Monday to Thursday rentals without bottle service is 200.00 and includes 2 free drinks, a fruit and cheese tray and all the water you want. It was real nice to have that cabana because once it gets to be noon hour, it gets real hot out there and its nice to have some shade and control how much sun we get. It really got busy at the pool after lunch and more and more young people come in. I realize that I'm going to sound old here...and I guess I'm getting there but, it kinda grossed me out that I saw many guys wearing underwear underneath their swimsuits. I find that very unsanitary and we didn't go back into the water once we saw that. We left about 3pm and chatted with our cabana host as we were leaving. She agreed with our thoughts on the underwear being worn in the pool. She also mentioned unless we really wanted to party hard, we don't want to be there from 4pm on and it gets mental until closing at 6pm.
We cleaned up and went downstairs to play a little before dinner. I went back to my machine and it was asking me to have a seat....at least I thought I heard it offering me to sit..... and it didn't pay me anything so off we went to PH to visit PF Changs as they also have a very good GF menu. The meal was great and thought of going for a short walk. It was crazy busy outside so we went back to the Flamingo and played some more. Guess where I sat? Guess where I donated? Yes, my favorite? Ultimate X machine. The machine was much more hungry than I was at PF Changs! My profit has dwindled down to $500.00 so I tell my better half that we should buy some tickets to a cirque show before I lose it all so we walk to the Mirage and get tickets to see "Love" for Friday night and then back to the Flamingo. It's too early to head to bed so we decide to play for awhile. As you might guess, I head over to "that machine" with the 200.00 profit I have left.
First hundred....gone. Second hundred...gone. Alright, I say to myself, it's ok, I really haven't spent any money yet on this trip. Everything so far had been paid by the casino so it's not so bad. My third hundred keeps me going for a while and at one point, I'm dealt a straight. I hold the straight so I get 8x on my next hand(double double bonus game). I'm dealt 4 -4's with a high kicker. I hold the 4's and hope for a low kicker and I get a 2, a 3 and a Jack. Sweet! A $4,000.00 handpay!

Friday - Off to the pool for 9am to soak up some sun until noon, upstairs to clean up and then we head to the spa for a relaxation massage. I have never had that before in my life. Only once did I have a deep tissue massage and it hurt so I've never gone back. This experience was great. Had a dry steam to relax and open the pores and then off for the aromatherapy massage with hot stones. Erlinda was the lady who gave me the massage and she was wonderful and the hot stones....love those. I just might have to try this again.
After a late lunch at Mon Ami Gabi (did I mention how good the food was there?) we relaxed a bit back at the hotel before heading over to the Mirage to see the Cirque du Soleil show "Love". I've seen it before but the better half hadn't. We both enjoyed the show very much and highly recommend it to anyone. Be sure to sign up and get a MLife players card before you buy tickets and you'll get 305 off ticket prices when you present the card.
After the show, we stuck around and played some multi strike VP and it did did multi strike my wallet for several Benjamins so we headed back to the Flamingo. I went back to my machine I have made money on and it gave me bacl all but 200.00 of what I lost at the Mirage.

Saturday - Checked out early to get our flight. Dropped into VIP lounge to settle up and asked for some discretionary comps. I went from 0 tier credits to 14,450 tier credits in 4 days. Must be worth something more than the 75.00 in RCS. My host was on vacation when I was there and the guy there only gave me an extra 100.00 towards my bill. A little bit of something is better than all of nothing. I will talk to my regular host when he gets back because they have no problem giving you hell when you don't give them enough action but seem to have trouble showing some love when you do give them action. I know they liked it because I had 2 different hosts come up to me and shake my hand and thanking me for playing there.

This machine was located among the banks of VP machines just outside of the poker room. The machine in question was a table top facing the poker room. There are 3 machines on the bank facing the poker room 2nd row away from the poker room. This machine was the first on the left if your standing in front of the machines. Good luck!

We booked cabana number 9 as it was furthest away and on the other side of the water falls. You get 3 deck chairs with your rental and cabanas 9 & 10 have chairs located just outside the cabana and right beside some pool steps. Other cabanas are situated further back so you have a walk to your deck chairs and pool area. The cabanas have new seating, a fan, a TV, and a safe. Was great to be out of the sun. It was just the two of us but 2 couples would find the rental very reasonable.

Great report...congrats on the Ultimate X VP success! Also, thank you for the Gluten Free tips....my trip in November will be the first with my wife since she went GF. I knew PF Changs was good, but Mon Ami Gabi is one of our favorite spots and that they have GZ options is great. I guess it won't be Margaritaville Volcano Nachos every night! Thanks again!
