Has anyone had success in ever getting resort fees waived at any of the MLife properties? I am such a low roller, I don't know if it is ever worth asking, but I wondered if any of you had any luck in getting them waived?

Yes. It was based on my play though. My play didn't warrant my dinner being comped but did get my resort fee taken care of. No matter how low of a roller you think you are, use your card when gambling and then go see MLIFE just prior to checking out. If you gave them any action at all, they can knock something off I'm sure.

If you play anything at all....check with the MLife desk before you check out. I had mine waived. Just be sure you are playing with your card in the machine...or give to the pit boss if you are playing tables.

This is a question that will usually spawn a thread that runs on for 7-10 pages as people recount their experiences with the resort fee at MLife properties...

To quickly sum it up, and this applies to ALL MLife properties:
    - Some people were charged the resort fee
    - Some people had the resort fee waived
    - Some people had the resort fee waived by their host
    - Some people had the resort fee comped
    - Some people had to pay the resort fee on comped rooms
    - Some people had a comped room and were never charged a resort fee
    - There is no consistency: you might stay at a property this time and not have to pay the resort fee, go back in six months and then they are charging you the resort fee, six months later you go back and no resort fee again

In general Aria seems to be the only one that is fairly consistent with letting customers on comped room offers get away without paying the resort fee. Anywhere else and its a toss up.

Either way, expect to pay the resort fee and if you end up not having to pay it then its like a bonus.

The Monte Carlo and NYNY seem to insist on collecting the resort fee on comped rooms. Two nicer places, the Bellagio and Mirage would not insult serious players with resort fees on comped rooms.

Mirage wouldn't do a thing for me and I spent a couple of grand there gambling. I stayed for four nights, two of which were comp'd. When I went to the Mlife desk the day before checkout, the lady at the desk told me I had around $50 to use towards my room and to come back and use it before checkout. Next day, I go to the desk and a different lady says I have $20 in express comps and nothing else. I explained what the other lady told me and tried to get something else taken off my bill ($300ish after tax and resort fees) but nothing worked.

Just another reason why I'm staying with TR this time. They've already promised me they would waive my resort fees on a five night stay, that I'm not paying much for in the first place.

All I got was a $20 voucher for Starbucks  That's after a week long stay at MB.

I agree, my mom got her resort fee waived for every hotel last trip (she stayed at M Life properties, Aria/Mandalay) by showing her card. She isn't a High Roller but she played every day, probably about $100 per day.

Nope... it's kind of fake anyways. They just do it to charge you less on the base. These things aren't really "optional perks" It's just so they can say the room is $75 instead of $103. Looks better on paper.

I guess it can't hurt to ask, but I'd always plan on paying it. Besides, you won't use the wifi?

    This 100%!

People say they wish there were no resort fees...but if they eliminate the resort fees the room prices will go up, thus reducing comps, and then people will complain about that too.

This isn't true at all. We got comps before at MLife properties and the level of comps has remained consistent or fluctuated along with everyone elses. What HAS changed is that all comps now cost a minimum of the resort fee. Therefore we no longer get ANY comps at MLife properties. You don't think that's worth complaining about?

Hmm, I asked someone at Excalibur when I was checking in and they said I had $20 to use and they'll apply it when I check out, I would just need to give them my Mlife card. Gave them my Mlife card at checkout and the guy said I had like $1.64 to use. Makes no sense.

I have had to pay the resort fee on every comped MLife room since they started charging them. I'done so at Mandalay, TheHotel, Monte Carlo, NYNY, and Mirage. I don't have a host btw but often have 1-3 night offers at various MLife properties.

Edited to add, at NYNY a while back I actually went to the MLife desk to specifically ask if she could remove the resort fees. After doing some checking she said sure she could and I was happy as a clam. Later when I went to use my express comps at a restaurant I found out that shed used them for the resort fee and didn't actually remove them. I was pissed!

That would piss me off too, saying they comped it but using your ECs...If I ever enquire about charges I always specifically tell them I do not want them to use my ECs. Did you go back and complain? or just eat it?

I have never stayed on a comp at any of those hotels you listed so maybe your experience is the norm there, but at Excal, luxor, and MGM I have never paid a resort fee on a comped room

It all depends on your offer.

I've had comp offers at NYNY where they charged resort fees, and I've also had offers where they were waived.
