Vegas Strip And The Great Wall of China

We just got back from our trip, walked the strip, and enjoyed all that is VEGAS!

Vegas Chatter posted pictures of the Cromwell, including a HUGE wall that TOTALLY blocked about half of the north facing rooms.

We visited the Cromwell, and wish to report on it.

CET really did this place right, it is beautiful. We are NOT saying we agree with the demise of Bills, just to say, WOW!

Next, this trip and the one in 2011, we used the Bus system. We used the Flamingo Road system again this trip. Last visit in 2011, while waiting at the bus stop near Ballys, Cindy noticed that one of the Decor of the Balcony's iron metal works, was missing a vertical rod.

We joked about, if after the make over, and the fabric cannopys added, if they fixed the missing rod by the time of our May 2014 visit. So after how many $$ Millions spent, and every piece of iron work was repainted, walls repainted, etc. if they would fix it?

NOPE, it's still missing and the construction workers .. just let it go. Millions spent, yet, can't get it done, for another $40 piece of Iron work.

And last, we saw for ourselves, what we are now calling, The Great Wall of China, at the Crumwell, those $250 rooms, with a view nothing but a HUGE FREAKING WALL.

Defend it all you want, AND you SPEND all of $250, or better yet, get it COMPED for Free, and ENJOY your FREAKING WALL VIEW!

For those rooms, that is ALL you will see. :banana:

It is totally hilarous, and I encourage EVERYONE to LOOK at it, and IMAGE what your stay would be like in that CRUMWELL VIEW ROOM!

SIMPLY RIDICULOUS!

 

I normally love a great view, but if I'm staying at the Cromwell, it probably means too much partying. That wall sure could help keep the sun out of my room if I need some sleep

 

For every day of you stay, YUP! At least you don't have to look around at what is going on outside.

The view will always be the same, from day to day.

 

Cromwell is fantastic; if the only comped room I can get there is a wallview room, I'll take it and split my stay there and my 3 comped nights at Cosmo. I'll have the view for a few nights and a wall for a couple. Hope to stay in October. The customer service was second to none on my visit a couple weeks ago and nothing I saw, wall included, was deserving of the name Crumwell. You said it yourself, CET did it right! If you don't plan to stay, the wall won't be an issue for you, so enjoy the beautiful casino, great drinks and fantastic customer service!

 

I'm willing to bet 37.9% of people couldn't care less about what view they have.

 

The Crumwell Wall View room is like going on a Cruise with an inside cabin stateroom.

Since we only do cruise Balcony Staterooms, We can't imagine how DEPRESSING an inside stateroom would be.

Spend all that time, effort, and money, going to Vegas, for an inside stateroom.

 

Alright, Ahab. We get it. The whale must die.

 

A good view is nice but a very minor consideration for us. Typically, we rush to look out the window when we first check in and then it's no big deal. Do much to do in Vegas to worry about the view. When we cruised, we had an inside state room. It was fine.

 

PLEASE BOOK IT. Later, post about it.

But PLEASE, YOU BOOK THAT ROOM.

Last, no way going on a seven night cruise, are we going stay locked up in a Box. When we cruise, at night, we leave the balcony door open, and the fresh smells and wonderful sounds of the water passing by the ship.....

Best sleeps we ever have. Each and every time, such a wonder restful sleep to get over the heavy night of drinking and gambling.

And we love our ocean view private Balcony, for we spend most of our CABIN time, out in the Balcony.

Why would anyone do anything else, if you have access to a Balcony???

We would do the same thing, If we ever had Cosmo Fountain View Room.

And that Balcony view is about the Same Money, as the Great WALL of China.

PLEASE BOOK THAT WALL VIEW ROOM.

And later post if it's the best Vegas Room you have ever had.

Why do you think we should all have the same needs as you do? We don't. Your needs are fine - for you. If you're happy with your choices - that's great too. It's all good.

After reading this entire thread, you are going there??? And it was the Vegas Chatter that started the whole thing.

We saw it... IN PERSON.... And it is the most RIDICULOUS Design we have ever seen for a room demanding a $250 a night stay.

If you do not like the post, why are you reading it again????

 

When I am in Vegas I want to LIVE IT! not look at it through a window!!!

 

the crowell has hotel rooms dam i never new, i just thought you went from the topless pool party upstairs to nite cub downstairs and repeat.

who cares about a wall, i dark out my room any way, its about chicks and d...ck and booze and a party .
there target demo doesnt care, wont notice , and will be drunk, to much molly to notice, if you want a view stay at bellagio but then again the cromwell clientel woundnt stay at the bellagio or care about the water squirting out of the fake lake , differnt strokes for differnt folkes

 

If you dont like it, dont book it to stay there. Plenty of places to stay. Everyone has their own needs and likes/dislikes.

I dont think cet will care if you like it or not since there will be ppl wanting to stay there for the atmosphere and conveinence.

 

As stated in the beginning, I am only here to post what we actually SAW, first hand, no Vegas Chatter Pictures, but our own eyes.

I am trying to warn other members here, that may not know of a design flaw, before they spend their hard earned dollars. Just like we do here on the VMB, for all Hotels.

All I am asking for is, if your viewpoint is that the Great Wall of China is acceptable, Please book that room, and then later Post about it.

For since it is new, there is next to no feedback from people, that actually spent any length of stay in that non view room.

For you, are you planning to book that room? If so, please let us know about it.

 

I've been to Vegas and had great views and had crappy views of the roof and HVAC units. A bad view doesn't ruin my trip. Someone has to sleep in the rooms with crappy views.

I remember a few years we booked a hotel/motel on the beach in AC. The room stated "no view". They didn't lie. The room's view was a brick wall about 5 feet away. My wife and I thought it was funny.

The inside stateroom was not depressing to us. We had a great time on the cruise. Trivial things like a view from a room don't depress me.

 

lol, good observation. I've never seen someone get so worked up over a fucking wall!
