I was just wondering what minimums and odds people had seen DT during the weekday lately? Specifically wondering about Golden Nugget, Golden Gate and the D.

    Thanks!

    The D was $5 with x10 odds on a Wednesday. 4Queens was $5 with x5 odds.

Saw $5 weekday mornings at the nugget, 3,4,5 odds I think but don't quote me.

    $5 Craps

One can usually find a $5 dollar game somewhere Downtown. El Cortez, Four Queens, Fremont, Binion's, and others usually host a low limit game for us cheapskates.

MSS has a $10 dollar game that seems to be lucky for some players.

Even some Strip casinos have a low limit game during the week, and in the wee hours of the am. Casino Royale comes to mind.

Just know that if you are on a winning streak the little bit more you put out there pays off.

See my craps blog in the sticky section of this category for easy ways to win. Did you want to win?

I'm sure this has been asked before but do the limits ever drop below $5? Even in the morning?

Main Street Station almost always has a $5 table going. They also have 20x odds.

The Fremont advertises $3 Blackjack and Craps All Day – Every Day!" (The Fremont offers only 2X odds.) I've also seen $3 craps from time to time at the El Cortez.

Thanks turtle. I like to play craps as a diversion from Blackjack on occasion but I much prefer playing for $2 or $3 since I can take more odds without killing the bankroll.

Be aware that you will need to gamble double to get any type of comps on the $3 tables, especially if you are making $3 bets. At the Fremont they have a counter on the middle of the table, normally you can qualify for "prizes" like t shirts and jackets and other stuff if you roll certain number of times but on the $3 table it will take double that amount for you to qualify for a prize.

As turtleman mentioned, Fremont has a $3 crap table all day and night but it gets very crowded in the evenings. The El Cortez mostly has a $3 crap table all day but sometimes they jack it up to $5 in the evenings.

Josh, of course you can play on those automated crap machines that are at some casinos. The el cortez has one also. I think they allow $1 bets but I'm not sure since I never played on it.

Yes, there is a 10 dollar table at MSS, but it is seldom open on weekdays. I have only seen it open on Friday/Saturday nights. Other than that, their tables are five dollars.

Since the highest I ever play craps is $5 I never get comps anyway. I love craps but since a $5 table is really a $15-25 in wagers plus appropriate come bets which could very quickly double and triple that amount I don't play it as much. I'm usually not sufficiently rolled unless it's been a good trip.

I've seen the $10 table open on some special times of the year, like New Years or SB and it isn't open every Friday or Saturday night, just depends on how busy the place is IMHO.

I'm with you, usually start off at $5 minimum bets but usually don't have $25 out on the table so I'm not rated very high. I do increase my bets if the table gets hotter. Luckily I don't play for comps so I am pleasantly surprised when I do ask for a comp and get it. There are some pit bosses that are a little more lenient with comps but I usually ask for a comp when I was on a hot table and had a number of chips on the table.

I seem to have more luck with asking for comps at fremont more than MSS and I seldom ask at the Cal (seems tougher to get comps IMHO but I could be mistaken). When I stay at the El C I hardly get any comps even when I'm making bigger bets, seems that they look at your initial bets to determine comps even if you increase your betting. Guess that's why I usually play minimum bets (unless a hot table) and hardly ask for a comp.

Craps is a tough game since they don't normally comp on odds. So the largest part of your action goes unrecognized. I fully understand they don't have an advantage on odds but it still feels "weird".

I don't even bother giving them my players card when I do play craps, I know it's just a waste of everyone's time.

I wonder if they still have the counter. A couple years ago, in one of those rare instances when I dragged Ms. Gecko to the table, we each got on terrific rolls and ended up with nice CrapShooter jackets and a round of applause.
Same here. An initial $5 line bet has a nasty habit turning into several times more after taking odds, sometimes come bets with odds and/or placing a couple numbers. I generally have plenty of patience, but have a really tough time watching hit after hit, while I have a single measly bet down. In hindsight, the only times I've really "done good" (that's how they talk in GA :)) at the craps table is when I'm wasted! (Interestingly, being drunk doesn't seem to help all that much at any of the other games.)

That's because alcohol makes it so much easier to play double odds, a few place bets, a couple of hardways, etc:drunk::drunk:
Gotta spend more to make more.:wink2:

The counter was still at the craps tables when I was there in January, I haven't heard of their removal. The Fremont has a promotion about winning stuff if you have long rolls so I doubt it will go away anytime soon. Plus it is a novelty, the only one downtown and on the strip.

I had a long roll and won a t shirt a year or two ago.

btw, not sure but the Fremont had some kind of special promotion on the bj table a few years ago, if you had a certain number of bj's within a 24 hour period you win something (I think it was a jacket). :evillaugh Not sure if it is still there because I don't play bj that much. And I don't think it was available on the $3 bj table.

makikiboy: Thanks for the info. I don't know about winning jackets at the BJ tables, but I must have accumulated at least half a dozen shirts! I'm not sure they even had a $3 table back then. I used to stay and play at the Fremont a lot, but most the dealers, pit critters, and cw's have moved on in recent years and so have I. Nonetheless, I'll probably stop by in a couple weeks and see if I still recognize anyone.
