    Hello All,

I hope this is the correct place to post this. My apologies if it is not.

I called the Aria to confirm the deposit that goes on a credit card for room incidentals. It is 130.00 per night. Okay, it was what I thought it was. The Customer Service Rep, (who was very nice) then reminded me that the resort fee of 28.00 per night would be collected upon CHECK-IN.

I explained that I would be booking through Myvegas and that I thought the resort fee was collected upon checkout. She explained (very nice again) that they put the charge on the credit card upon check-in, not check out.

Has anyone recently stayed at Aria and had this happen? Or have the resort fee waived because of Myvegas?

I'm just curious and don't want any surprises when we arrive at Aria in August. LOL

    Thanks,
    K-9treatbaker

Not at Aria but just got back from using MyVegas rewards at NYNY and MGM. They will authorize (hold) the nightly incidental deposit PLUS the $28 resort fee on your card at check in. After you check out the incidental part will drop off (minus anything you charge to the room) and the resort fee will post as a charge. We had back to back nights at NYNY and I saw a $50 per night authorization hold on the card (2 transactions) and two $28 transaction holds. Since they were separate reservations that's how they did it.

If you play a lot just stop at the MLife desk before check out and ask to have your resort fee comped. I haven't seen many success on getting it waived at check in.

In February staying at Aria on multiple MyVegas comps they authorized the resort fee and $130 per day at the time of check in. Resort fee was waived in October on a MV comp, but they charged it in February. They told me that they were supposed to be charging it all along but didn't know it, but word had come from above that they had to charge it.

Do they give the option to 'opt out' of the credit card hold ????
and if not, am guessing the funds become available back on your card around 1 to 2 days later ??

    Hi StuartUK,

Aria does not give the option to opt out. The deposit has to be either on a debit or credit card. Mandalay Bay does give the option to put down a cash deposit of 50.00 per day.

Excalibur has a 20.00 per day deposit charge on your credit card, or a 30.00 Per stay cash deposit.

New York New York has a 50.00 per day credit card deposit or 100.00 per day cash deposit.

    Hope this helps.

I believe what Weluvvegas just posted as well because my mom stayed there in November and she got them to comp her resort fee from playing at check out (MyVegas comped room to begin with).

    Cheers for the info....
We got 3 nights at the aria next week via myVegas.......
credit card hold not a prob (just curious as with car hire and 3 hotels with holds can equal a lot!! :D )

We play slots/tables, so hopefully will get R fee waived when visiting the mlife desk before checkout......

On the note of the Aria, I need some info on this:
We will park in the self park, carry luggage into casino, but need to get to the Mlife desk first to get our Mlife cards (lost them year in Vegas) before we can goto the main front desk to check-in.....
Is the Mlife desk far from checkin desks ?

If you are using the self park you will walk right by the Mlife desk on your way to check in. It is just behind The Deuce.

When we stayed at Aria earlier this year on a MyVegas comp the front desk never asked for our Mlife cards. Just the usual ID and credit card. Others may have had a different experience though.

Keep in mind that holds on debit cards are different than credit cards.

We always travel with multiple credit cards. I could care less how much they put on them.

Credit cards are free and worry free.

Stayed in Aria in Dec on myVegas comp. They already had my mLife number from the booking and did not ask for my players card. They did hold the incidental charges at the check in, but never charged me a resort fee at any point.

The Aria check in desk is not too close to the MLife desk but it's not hard to find. The MLife desk is near the HL room straight back as you walk through the casino from the front desk.

According to Arias website you have these two options:

-Guest's room balance plus a minimum room deposit of $200 is required to register at check-in, and to forego incidental charging privileges.

-Guest's room balance plus $130 per day authorization on a valid credit card is required to register, and to access incidental charging privileges.

This sounds right. I was there for three nights recently, and I remember seeing a ~$1100 hold on my card right after I first checked in, which dropped off a couple days later and was replaced by the ~$800 final charge at checkout. I don't recall the exact specifics since there's plenty of room on my credit limit for these sorts of incidentals, but I'm definitely sure it was a pretty large amount.
