Wynncore fans... ARIA?

Curious if any of my fellow Wynncore fans have ever stayed at ARIA and specifically what you think of the casino and pool? Rooms, restaurants and bars all look great so no questions there.

I received a nice offer for room, some $$$ in FP and a $100 room credit so thinking about splitting our Sept trip into 3 (the first 3) nights at ARIA and then the next 4 at Encore. I really have never liked moving mid-trip because of all the wasted time packing back up, moving (cabs) and settling back in but thinking it might be a good chance to experience ARIA if it's comparable at all to Wynn and Encore, plus keep my play up on "MILF"

 

Aria is a great hotel and even if the pool area is nice and spacious it falls short in comparison to Wynncores pool complex. Its especially noticeable when you split a stay between them as i have done it myself on several occasions. Its hard to describe what the difference is but its missing that vibe and feel that i love about Encore (especially the euro section).
I would still advise you to give Aria a try for yourself since its a very nice resort and even though I'm a huge Wynncore fan my next stay in June will be a split between Aria and Cosmo.

 

I think as long as Encore is after Aria you will enjoy both.

I agree with previous poster, something unidentifiable quality at Wynncore is missing from Aria.

 

The issue with Aria is for me personally, I got the vibe most of the staff was being put out by simple requests. With the exception of some front line employees in buffet and a couple of table dealers.

WynnCore on the other hand, while pretentious at times, I always felt like the staff gave a crap about my requests or complaints. Hell I even got a call from the F&B director after a submitted a comment card about a food screw up at the Deli.

Bottom line, I think WynnCore tries harder. Aria while I feel like has a hipper younger vibe, is still not worth the rates MGM is trying to push. I always feel like I am in a luxury joint at WynnCore. If Aria tried a little harder, I might be won over, but I don't see that happening with the BS policies MGM is pushing these days.

 

Thanks gang Pretty much what I was expecting. Rooms are comp'd at Encore too but we usually don't get any food picked up there so I figured the FP and the food credit might make it worth it to give ARIA a try, plus our last trip to Bellagio they also picked up some food so in general I think MGM properties are a little better about covering some F&B. Wynncore for us anyway has been pretty tight about comping any of the food bill. I think our host there may even be stretching the room comp. I read somewhere that they want about 3500 pts/day for a room comp and we avg about 3000-3300/day.

I definitely agree w/ ARIA first....made that mistake some years back by doing Encore first and then Bellagio....The B was nice but kind of a drop off in customer service and attitude...always easier to move fwd than backward

 

there both great the only big thing is with aria you have mlife so much more in free stuff to get if you gamble with all the events mlife does shows , boxings , concerts and resurants , if that doesnt matter either one will be the right choice

it will be up to you do decide.

 

I am a big Aria fan although I agree with Bommen as far as the pool complex at Wyyncore.
In my opinion it is the nicest on the Strip.

I moved to Aria after a couple big play trips at Wyyncore with big losses,and
my host thought a room comp was a favor.
I simply get a much bigger bang for my gambling bucks at Aria.

Paperposter's point is also a good one.
At Aria I get invites to almost every special event in Las Vegas.
As a Wyyncore customer,I was invited to nothing beyond a three night comp stay.

 

That is true, Wynncore is not handing out much in the way of comps except for rooms / FP in there sweet spot. For 4K coin in a day thru at Wynn I always seem to be on their radar for discounted rooms and 3 free nights / 300 FP ofters in Fall and Winter.

Now Wynncore is one of the few properties I don't have a problem paying for discounted room rates. If I had room and F&B credit on front end at Aria, I would take it over Wynncore. But for equal room rates, I would take Wynncore and walk down the street for F&B.

 

It's not just you. I walked up to the Bell desk outside to have them store my bag until my room was ready and instead of them meeting me half way as I approached, like most bell people do in Vegas, I had to walk up to them. The first guy I approached looked right pass me and then another guy started to help. The only problem was he was mugging for a tip the minute I handed my bag to him and specifically made a point of telling me that there would be another person delivering my bag to the room.
No don't get me wrong I usually over tip in Vegas, but their attitudes got no tip, but the guy who delivered my bag and showed me everything in the room including pointing out that safe was in the night stand got a nice tip which he never had to mug for!

 

I would go to a restaurant at Aria just to try something different but I dislike that casino. No panache whatsoever.

 

A friend described it this way. Wynn was designed by a man with a vision, Aria was designed by committee.
