May 16-18: What's Going On?

I'm headed to Las Vegas again tomorrow, leaving Sunday the 18th. My airfare was ridiculous, booked three weeks ago at nearly $1000 and no it wasn't First but I'm upgraded on Delta already (Diamond, two million miler). Return flights are over sold both Saturday and Sunday.

Decent hotels on the strip were sold out when I booked or ridiculous as well. I'm heading out to the Grand Canyon on Saturday so I booked a hotel in Henderson for Friday and Saturday.

What's going on? Big convention? Fight? Concert? Aliens planning on landing (again)?

Glad I'm staying the hell away from the strip!

 

Also the Preakness is on Saturday May 17th. Not as big a draw as the Kentucky Derby but any chance to see the second part of a Triple Crown winner will bring some attention.

I'm staying downtown that weekend and tried to get a room on the strip for just one night but the rates were astronomical for Vegas standards. I guess I'll have to settle to taking the SDX to see the busyness.

Billboard is nothing unless you are trying to stay at MGM. I went a few years ago. It was a super expensive week though..

Also Tiger Woods gold tournament and concert at Mandalay Bay

I think there is just always a lot going on in May.

 

It's a long weekend here in Canada and a lot if us head to Vegas for it. The D usually throws a Victoria Day party for all us Canucks
