    My Trip Report

Mostly pictures, but I added some notes here and there. There were too many regular 4 of a kinds to post them all, so I tried to stick to just posting the more interesting hands.

Got into Las Vegas at around 11:00PM on the 2nd. Checked into Sam's Town just after midnight.

The room was OK. There was plenty of space. The walls were very thin, though. I could hear every conversation from the room next door. I liked the view.

I played single line 25 cent Jacks or Better, Bonus Poker, and DDB for a couple of hours and called it a night at 2:30am, since it was effectively 5:30am back home. Total coin in, $1522. Finished even on day one.

A couple of day one Bonus Poker Aces:

The next morning I found the 9/6 DDB Progressive Machines. I had very good luck.

Before the big race, we decided to go check out a couple of beer stores (Khourys and Total Wine). The prices and staff at Khourys were great, but their selection was pretty small. Total Wine had a huge selection.

    I placed 3 bets on the Derby. $2 Exacta - 5/ALL, $2 Exacta - ALL/5, and a $2 Exacta Box - 1,3,5,6,20. In total I spent $112, and got back $340 on the 5/ALL.

We planned to visit the Pasta Pirate for lunch, but I didn't want to risk affecting my future offers by using points to pay for the meal and not playing at all, so we stopped into Dupar's for a delicious meal. I had the French Dip sandwich. My girlfriend had the Reuben.

I decided since I was up, I'd through a couple hundy in the $1 JoB machine. This disappeared quickly. I did manage to hit a straight flush on the DDB Progressive before I called it a night.

    Day 2, $7261 coin-in, up $534 on the day.

The next morning we moved over to the Gold Coast. We planned to have the breakfast buffet. I had forgotten it was Sunday, so it was the brunch buffet. There is nothing on the brunch buffet that isn't on the breakfast buffet that I like. Basically overpaid (with points, at least) for the breakfast buffet.

After breakfast, I dove right into the Super Times Pay.

Early on, I was dealt 4 to a royal with a 3x multiplier. Unfortunately, I didn't hit, but it was awesome to have the chance!

Once again, I was lucky enough to get another royal! 3 trips in a row now!

Delicious free (comped off on checkout) dinner at the Cortez Room. The prime rib was excellent. Loved the Creme Brûlée.

Note the fancy seed catcher (condom?) on the lemon!

I forgot to add, days 1 and 2 at Sam's Town, and day 3 at Gold Coast were all point multiplier days. 7x points on video poker! This worked out awesome.

Day 3, $24590 coin-in (almost 180,000 points earned!), up $449 on the day, $983 on the trip.

Day 4 started out pretty slow, here are some of the more interesting hands...

We decided to drive out to Red Rock Canyon again. It's a 20-25 minute drive, and well worth the $7 fee to drive the loop. I'd definitely do this again, and again.

After the canyon, we decided to stop into the Red Rock Casino for lunch. We signed up for our players card, and were awarded new player free play. I spent about 20 minutes trying to find the FPDW, and had no luck, so I just sat down at this machine, and 3 hands in... Dealt 4 deuces! Woohoo!

Got my money, and headed for the buffet. I really liked the vibe at Red Rock. It reminded me of the Palm's. The buffet was very decent, with a lot of choices. Unfortunately, I don't think my 3 hands of Deuces Wild with a $1250 hit and run will get me any offers!

I took this picture a little premature, since I gave back about $700 before I called it a night.

Day 4, $17087 coin-in, up $628 on the day, $1611 on the trip!

It was another great trip, bringing me to 7 royal's in my last 3 trips, and my 3rd trip in a row finishing up in the $1500-$2000 range. Since I did so well again, I booked my next trip already! Next trip will be with my dad and uncle, 3 nights at Main Street Station, and 2 nights in a 2 Bedroom Suite at Gold Coast. Looking forward to getting back to the Boar's Head Bar!

If theres anything someone wants some more details on, feel free to ask! I didn't go into great depth, since it was mostly a gambling trip.

Great gambling-heavy TR! Thanks for sharing. That was some good luck. Always fun to be able to VP non-stop and stay ahead the whole time.

    Excellent report and pics!

I have not won a thing during my two attempts at the Gold Coast 9/6 STP JOB game, but your report gives me the courage to try again next month.

Nice little weekend to get 180K points / $180 cash back (or $252 in food).

I'm going to take the shuttle one day up to Sam's Town from the Cal and will make sure to hit GC and/or ST during bonus point days in June.

Tks for posting the pics, that's a lot of VP!! Other than the thin walls, how else was the room at Sams Town? I like that view also, it's different. I've never stayed there but have thought about it, just wish other hotel/casinos were closer by..

The room was large. It had a small table with a couple of chairs and a moderate sized bathroom. The shower curtain was a bit of a pain. It was so close when closed, I ended up leaving it open to avoid being smothered by it. They really need to switch to the curved rods.

It seemed like the room would have been really nice 5 years ago. Showing a little wear, but still decent. Not quite as nice as the rooms at Suncoast. I'd consider going back for a night or two, but I'd much rather stay at MSS or Gold Coast, primarily for gaming reasons.

Nice pictures. Glad to see you were ahead. I will be at the Gold Coast in less than a day.. I hope see some of that luck you got. Last year I hit a royal flush at the bar for a grand. It was 1am on my bday. I get nervous doing those 3 play machines. If you don't hit something quickly the cash disappears fast. All I am hoping for is a few 4ok's and maybe a royal flush. So far I have hit 2 royals in vegas both at boyd properties. The other 2 at my indian casino.

    Scot,

When it comes to getting Royals, how many cards are you usually holding when you get one?

I'd say that half of the time, I have 4 to a royal. 30% I have 3 cards, and 20% I have two cards to a royal.

I have never been dealt a royal, nor have I gotten a royal with only one card or on a complete re-draw.

I've had 7 royals on 25 cent or higher denomination.

    1 dealt.
    1 holding 2-to a royal.
    3 holding 3-to a royal.
    2 holding 4-to a royal.

3 were on multi-line STP at Gold Coast. 4 were on single line at MSS.
