Bob Taylor is on the Must Do list here.

I have been to Golden Steer and it is about as Old Vegas as you can get.

We lived out that way and ate there quite a bit. Never a bad meal. Atmosphere is "quaint".

More useless trivia... it is the oldest restaurant in the City of Las Vegas and yes way out there is still the city.

Triple George downtown across the street from The Downtown Grand. Excellent food, great wine list and lots of good beer on tap. Very old school and very highly recommended. If you're downtown it's definitely worth a try.

I've been meaning to try the Triple George for the last 2 years, but always end up in Vic & Anthony's.

I have friends who rave about it, so will 100% make sure that I get dinner in there one night this year.

Help me out here so I don't give misinformation.

Is this the place right by the old Mob Bar, or where the Mob Bar was, and just down the street from where the other bar with all of the bras on the wall is?

If so, I would describe it as more "wannabe foodie" than old-school steak house!

We stopped there last year (I think, it was when we did the Mob Museum and then the Mob Bar) since we needed something to eat after drinking at the Mob Bar. I remember it mostly because I thought the menu lacked variety and it was far more spendy than what I had expected. It was very "ok", but did not rate the Charles Atlas Seal Of Approval(tm). :)

It is next door to Hogs & Heffers and "spendy" is an understatement.:poke:

That being said, the OP's original point was to try Bob Taylor, I don't think he was looking for advice on places to try.

    Uh-huh, that's the place then.

And Bob Taylor is promoted to the top of the Must Try list. Too bad it's way out in the toolies.
