My wife and I recently started getting comped Saturday nights from a casino in AC. We are not big players and have rarely gotten free Saturday nights.

So I plan to book a Saturday night every month as soon as the offers come in the mail. I just plan to cancel the reservation if we don't have plans to go.

Do others do this often and do you think the casino will stop the comps because we are tying up rooms?

Like paperposter said, if it's CET then it's not a problem as long as you maintain the same play then it won't affect your current or future offers. I book months in advance using TR rate calendar. Especially for holidays or weekends, once I see a good room I want and it's comped, I book it. I cancel if I'm not able to go. I think I cancel at least 10 reservations a year, give or take. If CET, using TR website is easy as you can book and cancel online within a minute or two. Unlike Borgata and Taj, when you book online, you can only cancel by calling them.

CET (mostly Harrahs) is where we normally played in AC and almost never got free Saturday nights. A few people told us about Revel giving away comps galore. We went down one day midweek and played a few hundred through the machines. Lo and behold the comps started rolling in. Comped Saturdays anytime and $30 each FP. Figured we'd cash in as long as they are offering.

I see. I play at both Harrahs and Caesars when I'm in AC. I like Caesars more cause it's close to everything and Harrahs is all the way on the other side near Golden Nugget and Borgata. Especially during weekends, when they have those Harrah pool parties, it can get pretty rowdy.

Yea, I heard the same about Revel being pretty generous the last few months. They're still in a hole I believe hence the nice gestures.

I used to live in NYC too. Haha. They were catering to that side of the house instead of gamblers.... for a VERY VERY short minute until they realized the income from those avenues could not hold up. I think in less than a year they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy? I was also living in NYC when they just finished building it and smoking wasn't allowed anywhere inside. I'm a smoker, so I had to walk all the way out to the parking garage to smoke which is a good hike due to the layout of how Revel is. IMO, I feel that lot of gamblers that do smoke like smoking while gambling. Plus, Revel itself reminds me of Cosmo. The environment and vibe, catered to the young EDC crowd and not the gamblers. I went sometime beginning of this year and they changed the smoking policy and you're able to smoke inside designated areas now inside.

Many of the prior responses don't directly address your question, which is will booking and cancelling rooms impact your future offers. I can say that I have never read or heard of anyone linking the cancelling of rooms to the reduction in future room offers. The main factor in offers is your average play per day on a stay.

Just be sure to cancel your reservations before 48 or 72 hours before your stay, and earlier if you already know you won't need the room.
