FYI, Affleck is a well-known card shark -- back in 2001, he reportedly amassed $800,000 in blackjack winnings (at the Hard Rock no less) by playing three $20,000 blackjack hands at once.

Somebody at Hard Rock has a long memory :evillaugh

Ben Affleck is going to be here in Detroit all summer filming Batman v. Superman. I'm sure I'll spot him at one of the Detroit casinos on one of my many trips, since he hasn't been banned from them.... yet.

What kind of cover does a guy like that use? Guess he just thought they'd let him.

I'm not sure I believe the article.

It would be easier for me to believe he was backed off and told not to play BJ again.

I smell a play for publicity.

Whose publicity? Ben doesn't need it, and HRH gets what from saying "You won't see Ben here"?

Unless Ben has a new gambling film in the works.....

Wizard's chart says the D has a $5K limit, no surrender, and no resplitting aces on double deck, for an edge of .45%. If they let him spread $10-5000, Ben should do fine.

Except that he'd be at the D, which might not be cool enough for Ben Affleck.

Good point. I got him confused with his younger brother. Anybody who played Ned Alleyn can't be all that cool.

Is the Hard Rock cool anymore or am I just getting old?

I've never understood the allure of Hard Rock. Many celebrities that I follow on Twitter are constantly staying there whenever they are in Vegas. It would seem that there are much cooler places to stay.

They stay there because it is off strip and not as crowded anymore? Or...HRH pays them/comps them fully to stay and play?
