I have heard from my mom & aunt that Gold Coast has much looser slots and some of the older fun machines. My aunt won a over 3 thousand and my mom $500, both on penny slots!

Has anyone had any luck there? We are going to shuttle from Bally's to there one night. I also hear Orleans is lucky. I have actually stayed there before.

I don't play slots, but I sometimes play craps there.

They are sort of the locals casino for the south strip. Gold Coast caters to the Grandparents not the 21+ something partier drinkers. They have a 90 lane bowling alley instead of a party club.

I'm not a huge slot player, but I did play there for a couple hours a few weeks ago. They seemed pretty typical to me, I lost slowly.

"Looser slots" can be very fleeting and temporary, depending on who is winning one day, and others that are losing the next day. We were at the Gold Coast in April, and they have moved a lot of machines around, out of where they used to be, and we also noticed lots of "new" machines .... we had a hard time finding the VP machines that we wanted to play.

A couple years back at the Gold Coast, my wife was playing VP at a multi-game machine, and started out with 8/5 Bonus Poker, and hit quad Aces. She then tried the 16/10/4/4 DW, and hit quad Deuces. On her next $20, she switched to 9/6 JOB, and hit a Royal. Walked away with a combined profit of over $1200. The next trip, she tried that same machine again, and lost several $20's, and finally just quit it was so bad. As I said ... "loose" is only temporary ... there are no promises ....

That's nonsense. It's no secret that El Cortez, other Downtown, Boulder Strip, N. Las Vegas, Laughlin, Reno, and off-Strip casinos like Gold Coast have looser slots than the Strip.
    Permanently.

Took Gold Coast's penny slots for over $500 2 weeks ago when I stayed at Rio for a couple of nights. Had a blast. They specialize in many older Aristocrat machines.......my favorite!!!!

After playing slots religiously for nearly thirty years, I have finally come to the conclusion that; you don't win at slots.........winning is optional. Went to Gold Coast for lunch one day, to get enough points for a free buffet the next, and wound up cleaning them out! That never happens. :rolleyes2:

    Have fun there!

And, it's no secret that I don't play on the Strip for that very reason ... as the "looseness" off the Strip is directly because the Strip has their machines set at a lower % payback. It doesn't take a genius to know that.
My point was that just because we accept that the off-Strip casinos tend to pay back a higher return, does not guarantee that we will all come away winners on every trip. The casinos will always win more that we will ... plain & simple.

To quote Steve Wynn ... "Do you know how to make money in a casino ?" ...
    "Own one ... ".

Funny as it may be.. I've played the Bier Haus slot a LOT of places...the only place I have CONSISTENTLY won on it, has been at GoldCoast (right in front of their little theatre)
This last time, I put a $5 in it, and immediately hit the bonus, cashed out a couple minutes later for $80.

Spent a couple nights there earlier this week. Had absolutely NO luck on the slots there, in fact, probably lost the most money there. However, the CW was GREAT.

The Gold Coast was my home casino for many years ( now Southpoint). And I've lost a lot of money on Slots, BJ, VP, Craps etc. etc. over the years. I don't think it's better or worse than other locals casinos.

For the poster that said it catered to grandparents should check it out on weekend nights. Much younger crowd but they are not club goers just drinkers and gamblers.

I would go ahead and go to GC. It doesn't hurt to expand your horizons. As long as you are there, take some time to walk across the street to Palms. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Yeah on weekends they have a night bowling deal with drink specials that seems to draw a younger crowd that you won't see there the rest of the week.

I can't say I've ever won big at GC but I can play longer with a smaller bankroll there usually. The Silverton has been the loosest of the offstrip joints so far.

I haven't had a lot of luck at the Gold Coast, but it's the BF's favorite place. He's done well on the 25c WOF slots there.

I play at the Gold Coast every trip. Last year got lucky and hit a royal flush at the bartop for a grand. Took tht home. Was very happy. Through out the week I stayed there I won enough to keep me playing there. I will be there again next week where I hope to at least break even.

If you play VP there is no comparison to the strip or the CET properties. Just start with double double where Rio bar tops are 6:5 and GC is 9:6. That disparity is true across the board for just about every game.

My wife only plays nickels at the strip. Anything more or for triple machines, it is definitely GC or other off-strip hotels primarily SouthPoint. We used to play at the M a lot, but they really tightened up.

The other benefit is the points earned in the slot club...again, much, much better off-strip.

As slots in Vegas these days go, I find the Gold Coast quite loose compared to the other places I have played.
It's a small place, but has a good selection of slots, surprisingly good rooms (although a little small) and great employees that are there to see you have a good experience.
The guys at the front bar really hustle.

GC was my favorite place to play Bier Haus (right by the nightclub)
But that was eclipsed this last trip by Suncoast' Bier Haus machine...where I hit MULTIPLE bonuses, and even one with 65 spins!
I still like GC overall though...

I play there every trip for the VP bars but will play the dual front/back Bombay Slot machines in front of PingPangPong .Just because a friend plays the same game in FL immokolee casino and he turned me on to it...cashed out quite enough titos and got 65 bonus spins once..all this on $20 in for 10 spins..Biggest hit was like $330? or so. Tried the other Bombay machine off the Keno area and blew through a $100 in no time...I do like the 'old Goat' as my buddy and I refer to the place,as I hit my first and only royal there and a few 4 deuces and never a real problem with the rooms .You get to know the employees over the years and all is good.!
