    Trips to Las Vegas:
    11
Hello! I have been lurking at this board for the last few weeks in preparation for my trip to Vegas and have been gaining so much from it that I decided to join and introduce myself.
I am a 35 year old attorney from beautiful Marco Island, FL. I practice estate planning, probate, and real estate law. I have a husband, 39, and a beautiful daughter, 5.
My husband and my 10 year wedding anniversary is this May, so what better way to celebrate than a trip to Vegas???!!!
This will be my 11th trip to Vegas I believe. My first was when I was 21.
Gambling is a beloved form of entertainment in both my husband's family and my family. My late grandfather loved to gamble, and I have been playing poker and cards since I was about 7 years old. My parents, inlaws and my husband and I get together every Sunday for a family game of Texas Hold Em, tournament style.
Although I love to gamble, I am also very conservative. I bet the minimums and always look for $5.00 tables if at all possible. I will go up to $15.00 but no more. I love to play black jack (basic strategy), pai gow poker, texas hold em', and of course, nothing better than a hot craps table!!! I would have to say that craps is my favorite but I more often than not play pai gow because it is slow and easy going and I don't lose or win a lot. I do not like slots, although my husband does ... every once in a while I will do one ... maybe one a day. Our local Seminole Indian Casino (Hard Rock Immokalee, about an hour from me) has installed electronic craps which is pretty cool ... but I don't consider it a slot machine since the dice are actually rolled by popping the platform. It's not as good as the camaraderie you get with regular craps, but it seems to have the same odds!
I adore Vegas ... it is my favorite city in the United States!!! I love the whole energy of it. I love how so many people there are happy, excited and outgoing ... everyone strikes up conversations with each other and bonds ... I love the lights and the sights ... I love that you can get luxury for less money than anywhere else and feel like you are being taken care of as you are spending your money! I love the spas there and I LOVE the shows!!!! When we visit, we see a show every night. I also like all the free attractions and just enjoying walking up and down the strip, adventures to downtown and trying new things. I love the variety and availability of the restaurants ... I love so much .... it's just a vibrant place!!!

We are going May 9-May 16. This is the longest time we have ever spent in Vegas at a time, so I have it planned out so we have lots of activities to break up the gambling. I suppose I should not put a pre-trip report here? Maybe in the trip report section?
I have left lots of room for changes and flexibility, but I like to have a rough outline of what section or area we are going to each day (we will spend a whole day downtown, and most of the rest of the days on the strip), and I have our show tickets (Rod Stewart, Million Dollar Quartet, Gordie Brown downtown ...)and a couple of reservations of restaurants I've been wanting to try (Buddy V's and the steakhouse at the Flamingo). We are going on a couple of adventures ... one to Sam's Town, which I have never been to, and we are going to spend Sunday night ghost hunting in Goodsprings, NV, which I understand is 1/2 hour outside of Vegas. They pick you up right on the strip and they take you to the town and give you ghost hunting equipment and everything! It's a bucket list item of mine so I'm excited!!!
Anyways ... thank you all for sharing! I've been getting a lot of tips and it's fun to get excited again!!!

Hello JenTen1585, welcome from Bonita Springs. My wife and I play a lot of Pai Gow at the casino in Immokalee. Happy Anniversary!

Welcome to the board. I know a little about Lee County but not much about Collier. Was Collier County exceptionally busy with tourists and real estate shoppers this winter?

I've probably seen you there! My husband and I got about once every two months, usually on a Saturday. But I will almost always be at the pai gow table when we're there. =)

Extremely busy!!!! Marco Island was ranked by trip advisor as the #1 island in the United States to visit, and the #4 island in the world, so you can imagine the influx of people! And real estate is definitely moving! Honestly, I am ready for season to end and get to catch my breath a little bit! Today is technically the last day of our season, so going to Vegas at the end of next week is a perfect get away! I can't wait!!!

We were involved in a bit of real estate drama in Cape Coral this winter, so I can imagine how it must have been for pros in a place like Marco. Have fun- you earned it!

I go to Estero all the time for the Miramar outlet mall, and sometimes for the ice skating at Germain Arena ... only about a 45 minute drive from us!!

LOL! Hi! Betting 5$ blackjack, 5$ craps, and 10$ pai gow, I doubt I'll be able to take much ... but I'm hoping to come out ahead at least some of the days ... and to have a lot of fun win or lose!
