Morning all, This is one of the definite go to's when we are in vegas. Love eating at Steak n Shake. Last time we where there we couldn't find the Deal or No Deal interactive machine, any idea if it's still there. We will be revisiting in 4 months either way. Tell us why you like the Southpoint... Regards Q
Not as pretentious as those in the real strip area. Has a feel of a local house and is a value play comparatively speaking.
Ditto what has been said. If you play table games be sure to ask the pit critters for comps at any of the restaurants..........
SP is our current fav. They used to have Deal or No Deal machines along the wall to the room elevators. If they are not there, they are either moved or gone. Other SP highlights for us are the deli, they had a midnight Friday free comedy show, the sushi restaurant offers some unique selections and, best of all, the slots are loose. Even with medium play we get most of our room charges comped and that has included meals on some trips, but not all. Also, take advantage of the fee shuttle to and from the airport if you pre-book. Good luck.
the prices for liquor in their store are better than Albertsons or most supermarkets. You do not need to stock up before you get there and you can charge it to your room. I like the sportsbook and sitting in the seating area in the bar that is right by it.
My wife and I have stayed at South Point three times. We love it. It's friendly and inviting. The slot machines have hit for us there for some small wins. I agree with Johnzimbo about their super bowl parties. We were there for the Packers Steelers Super Bowl three years ago and the atmosphere was great! I liked Steak and Shake too and their affordable cafe.
I love the SP. Staff is friendly, lots of VP on the floor and many bars to play at as well. They have a lot of food choices at good decent prices. Mexican Food place is very good. Hotdogs in Sports Book area are great but they run out quickly. Rooms are good size and bed is comfortable. The biggest drawback is the location. They use to have a free shuttle to and from the strip but now have a contract company that does it for a fee. Otherwise SP is one of my favorite places to stay and play at in LV.
South Point has lots of full-pay video poker, including multi-line machines, and you never feel crowded. Good cash-back / comps on your points, and 2500 free points during your birthday month. Their buffet is very good, and don't forget the complimentary Bloody Mary at the breakfast buffet !!
Graveyard specials at the Coronado Cafe are among the best in town. Steak + eggs quality is consistantly good. A "must eat" every time I visit.
I agree with almost everything you said, except for the breakfast bloody mary. Each person in my whole group couldn't finish one of them. At the bars there, you can ask for tomato juice or clamato.
Ost, if you go to the South Point web site (www.southpointcasino.com), click on reservations. On that page at the top, there is a link saying Strip Shuttle Schedule. There you will find the schedule for the shuttle.
South Point shuttle Is there a shuttle from strip to South Point? Staying at the Mirage in July and would like to try South Point for a few hours having read good reviews on SP...
