    Should be 'Gambling Movie Scene'
Sure we could do Vegas, or backgrounds of Vegas etc.
Let's try to keep it mainly gambling of sorts, any kind, if it's in a casino or hotel the better!
This is one of my favorites, not to mention all the great actors/actresses!
The last scene in 'The Kid' clip is like a footnote on the Kid's life.

Rounders, The Sting, Hard Eight, Casino. Somehow Rounders is the most intense gambling oriented movie ever in my view. The poker game on the train in "The Sting" is a fantastic, nearly legendary scene (w Paul Newman) in a movie not really focused on gambling. "Mr. Clements, give me $10,000 more!" I grew up on it, and I'm getting an adrenaline rush just thinking about it now.

I loved Sharon Stone in "Casino" but that film just has LV as a backdrop, gambling is not the main focus.

Some of the Bond films have a great moment--I love the backgammon scene in Octopussy--but again they are not gambling oriented.

Rounders, big time, is "my favorite gambling movie" even though I am not a poker player. Gambling is the major focus of the film.

    All those are spot on...
Some of those from you Viva I had never been able to find and watch.
Looks as if poker is the main gambling scene in most...
heck, we could have a poker thread on just gambling scenes
I'll have to check out California Split, upon further review...ok, yes, I've seen it, just never knew the name of it.

Here's two more of my favorites
    The Poker Match- The Sting

and this cracks me up every time I watch it...which reminds me of the scene in Trinity

Stripes (with John Candy) - Bluff me (Funny poker scene)

Favorite scene is when they go to vegas for the first time and he has a split opportunity and touches that cards, the dealers says sir please dont touch the cards, then he wins the split. Reminds me of the the first time I played black chip blackjack...I was so nervous cuz I usually play red chip but got on tilt and was trying to win my money back...ended up walking away with my first yellow chip ever, recouping all of my losses for the night

Looks like I got some catching up to do. Of the movies mentioned, the Sting and Cool Hand Luke are the only ones I have seen all the way through and that was so long ago, I have forgotten most of those two movies. Only seen fragments of a few of the others mentioned and have never heard of several of them.

Based on your recommendation, I watched Bob le Flambeur last night - totally enjoyed it!!!!

I've always wondered about the casinos as described in Casino Royale and this gave me a view on them I never thought I'd have - like how those crazy plaques work.

    Great stuff! Keep 'em coming!

I just read a review from Roger Ebert and now I have to watch the movie too!
Did not see any gambling scenes in the clip, but I'm sure there are plenty.

Flamber (verb, French): To wager not only the money you have, but the money you don't have.

"I was born with an ace in my palm."
    --Bob

The climax of "Bob le Flambeur" involves surprising developments that approach cosmic irony. How strange, that a man's incorrigible nature would lead him both into and through temptation. The twist is so inspired that many other directors have borrowed it, including Paul Thomas Anderson in "Hard Eight," Neil Jordan in "The Good Thief," and Lewis Milestone and Steven Soderbergh, the directors of the "Ocean's Eleven" movies. But "Bob" is not about the twist. It is about Bob being true to his essential nature. He is a gambler.

Rounders is one of my favorites. That movie, along with the ESPN Pocket Cam, put Texas Hold 'Em in every home card game in America. They increased the popularity of poker immensely.

Although it doesn't focus all that much on gambling, Hangover is the best I have seen that illustrates the fact that almost anything can happen in Las Vegas.
