    My Trip Report

*Oh my god, I wrote this all once and tried to preview it and LOST EVERYTHING. My login expired or something?

Anyhow, this is my first TR as a VMBer. Did a bachelor party in vegas from 4-17 thru 4-20. Stayed down at 4 Queens. Killer price for room, 160 for the three nights which was nice. Had a smoking room, south tower 19th floor away from all the sound of fremont.

View was nice, including a sweet view of the jail. This is where the REAL "walk o' shame" happens. I also saw a guy walking around down there with a "THE END IS NEAR" sandwich board on. Seriously.

Just some of the sweet features of this modern room. I had to sweet talk room service into bringing me a real ice bucket. They told me they didn't have any. I called their BS, and they snagged one from a suite for me. Some people would say "well you shoulda got a suite if you wanted an ice bucket". Those people can stop reading now.:poke:

-Hit the Container park and Atomic Liquors on Thurs night. First time to each. Container park was dead as it was late when we went. Wound up at a bar inside there called BIN 702. They have ginger beer! So I ordered a Dark n' Stormy. They had no limes! I couldn't believe it. The bartender told me there was a lime shortage in Vegas, I pray she was messing with me. She even suggested I check the bar across the way, maybe they have limes. I was having none of that. So I asked for their strongest beer. I wound up with something called a Urthel Samaranth. It was $14, but tasted like it was higher than 10%. We had to leave as soon as I got it, because the park was closing. Of course, we couldn't leave the place with our drinks, because, where do we think we are? Las Vegas? So I slammed this crazy beer, and it put me over the edge.

Walked past the defunct Western on the way to Atomic liquors. Depressing as ever.

I was very excited about hitting up Atomic Liquors, I'd heard good buzz. This type of joint is right up my alley, a cheap bar with great history, the real vegas cheez. Not sure what to make of it though. Upon entering, I was STOKED to see an old jukebox with 45's in it. I asked the bartender for change and was informed its just for looks. BLASPHEMY. They also have a rack of pool cues on the wall for the pool table they don't have. I think the drinks were good here, I was pretty blasted. I do remember them having Limes though.

-Gambling on this trip was significantly less than other trips. Lost maybe $150 at the craps tables, only 2 places I shot were at LVC and ElCo. I had spent my previous few days before the trip crafting my PERFECT PARLAY to bring the house to its knees. Placed the bet friday, and nailed my first two picks. Last game was DBacks at Dodgers, and wanted to catch the end of the game when I was at ElCo. Sat at the east bar, and they had a damn propecia infomercial on. Asked bartender to change it to the game, and he says he can't find it, go to sportsbook. I go there, catch a half inning (game is in extra innings by this time) and they shut down the damn book! booted everyone out and turned off the TV. And the dodgers ended up tanking, ruining my bet. BUT! I did something a bit sketchy. I sacked up and made the same bet the next day, because I really felt good about it.

And it hit. $240 on a $60 bet. My first parlay win! F yeah!

Also went to the Chicago stogie bar at 4 Queens for a craft brew and to watch hockey while waiting on my buddies. I'm not much of a VP guy, but have recently been inspired by the hijinks of some VMBer's recently. Slipped a $20 in a machine and played it down when it happened:

My first quad! And it was Aces for the progressive, to boot. 3 were dealt, and I took a big gulp of beer, and hit deal for the win. F yeah x2!

-Sat night had a big dinner with all the guys from bach party at Brand @ Monte Carlo. It was nice, good ambiance. Had the Filet Mignon, it seemed blandish to me? I think I broke my tastebuds by drinking and smoking too much. Everyone else got the Tomahawk ribeye. It has the giant rib still in it, it looks like a steak Lollipop. No Pics though, because taking pictures of your food is lame. j/k. I Don't know if I would go back, food was okay, but have had better steaks for cheaper in LV that also included a salad and sides.

-Did TRYST on Sat night. Bottle service with the guys. I'm not a big club guy, and have only done clubs and service a couple of times prior. That being said, I had a complete f'ing blast. Club venue was amazing, It wasn't super crowded, everyone was in a great mood. Clientele seemed skewed a bit older than what I have seen/experienced, and I liked that. Wish they would have maybe played a little more EDM instead of the HipHop/top 40. Closed the club down, and attempted to do afterhours at Drai's. It was kinda unorganized trying to get in, and we were too hammered to wait around. Called it a night from there.

-A homeless man on Fremont described me as being a little "Depeche Mode" to my buddy. WTF does that even mean. I know who Dep Mode is, but I don't get it. Funny anyhow.

Anyways, this was just a smattering of what went on during the trip. Consider this the PG version. It was a very strange trip for me in that I won without gambling a ton, and was out super late every night. In 3 nights, the earliest I got to bed was 530 am. I spent a ton of daytime in the room, sleeping and recovering. Needless to say, I still feel rough, and in full-on Vegas withdrawal mode.
