Well we bit the bullet and took advantage of a good fare from DFW to LAX in June on Virgin America. We were going to drive but now we don't have to and we were able to add an extra day onto the trip.

Has anyone here flown Virgin? How was your experience? How are the planes?

I almost always just fly AA - I've been on United and Continental for some business flights and once on America West to Vegas when they were around.

VA is a fantastic airlines. They have the most legroom, the best personal and free entertainment systems, and pre seat assignments. We use them whenever we can(next time in 9 days). You'll love them.

Flew them a few years ago LAX to JFK.

    Great experience.
Loved the "mood lighting" in the cabin, and how it changes as the flight progresses.
We splurged for the "extra legroom" seats. Very comfortable.
If you want a drink or a snack, you just use the touch screen menu on the monitor in front of you, put in your order, swipe your credit card, (some items are complimentary) and the attendant brings it to you quick as a snap.

We flew with them LAS to SFO last year. They were very nice new planes, we would definitely use them again.

Love flying Virgin Atlantic! I flew Virgin America from Orlando to San Francisco a few years ago and I loved it!
I wish they had direct flights from here to Las Vegas! They only have 5 flight destinations out of Orlando.

Agree with all of the positive comments. We've flown VA from SF to MCO (currently they don't offer this as a direct flight) and thought it was the best flights we've taken. We do occasionally fly AA and it pales in comparison. Happy flying.

VA is a decent airline. All relatively new Airbus A319 and A320 planes. OK food and snacks for purchase.

The only really annoying thing is that they play this overly long, loud and obnoxious rap video for the safety announcements, and after that play a string of commercials until takeoff.
