Is it worth paying fr a strip view room (or trying the $20 trick) or are the pool view rooms better.

Been to Vegas 3 times before and know the Monte Carlos but never stayed there I have tried the $2o trick the last 2 visits and its worked for an upgrade.

I know the rooms are slightly back of the strip and the strip view may just be looking into the other side of the hotel?

    Thanks

    Clara

Strip view will give you a nice view of the Coca Cola bottle, and MGM. You can't see much to the left. Pool view will give you a loud dj if you are in your room in the afternoon. I booked a high floor (nonstrip) view for my MIL, they sent her an email last week to upgrade to a stripview for $4 night.

Because of the angle of the building, the strip views aren't all that great. I wouldn't pay for the upgrade honestly. I was "upgraded" to it last time due to status, but was on a low floor with a lovely view of the Hawaiian Marketplace andthe MC air conditioners. The construction was kind of loud too. The NYNY view to the south is the best in that you don't get pool noise or construction.

when is your trip? They are going to build an Arena towards NYNY and the back of the properties, so if that's started, you may prefer a north view if possible. Perhaps you can request a quiet room AWAY from all construction. Please report back as I'm T-62 to a stay at Monte Carlo.

Like Tammy said, your going to get a view of the Coke bottle and M&M store. Which isn't bad. But I don't think it's worth spending the extra money, unless you absolutely have to have some sort of strip view. When City Center was built and Mandarin, that pretty much killed MC's strip view.

Beware of Monte Carlo's thin walls. You can hear everything through them lol.

In sleepless nights, if you stay in your hotel room ;-) it's nice to have at least a small glimps of the strip, and the other nice thing is you can watch all the airplanes flying in specialy in the mornings. But in the end as the others mentioned I don't think I would pay more for the upgrade to strip view.

We will be also in the MC from June 16th till 23rd and we have book high floor rooms - less noise :)

    have fun!

Thanks for the replies. We are staying in September. Got a great deal for MC.

Traveling from UK and have stayed at Bellagio, Mirage and NYNY. We don't spend much time in our room as we love Vegas (4th Visit) and want to enjoy it as much as possible. Hotel room is just for sleeping, storage and showering/changing lol.

We have spent time at the Monte Carlo on all visits and we are looking forward to seeing the upgrades to the entrance on the strip. Anyone any pics? We were last there in Nov 2013 and the construction was in full swing. I hope as much as possible is complete by Sept a we have recommended the hotel to some family (price, food court, tram to City centre/Bellagio, location, pool). I'm worried we have recommended it and the rooms/views might not be good for them But I doubt they will be in room much either.

Can't wait to get back to Vegas, loved it ever since we first went for honeymoon!

Surely updating an entrance that was just ornamental with bars and restaurants and shopping is better for the hotels look and attracting some new ppl.

Looking forward to sitting at double barrel looking out on the strip and enjoying a few beverages :drunk:

I'm sure from a business standpoint it looks good on paper. Aesthetically, they took what was once a very attractive entrance and junked it all up.

Paperposter posted a review of his first visit to the Double Barrel. Be prepared to pay for lock, stock and double barrel for each drink.

Aria/City Center view is the best view from Monte Carlo in my opinion. Strip view gives you a view of the casino roof and MGM Grand if your lucky.
