i live in city center so im always looking for another place to chill , so when d b salon opened in front of Monte Carlo and they where going to play r n roll and have cover bands play i said gotta check it.
went there friday around midnite maybe 20 people in the whole place, went to the bar order a beer, im a beer drinker perfer a good light beer ,which they dont have so i settled for a bud light. now here comes the bad part.

11$ for a bud light .i kept the receipt and finaly got to look at it and it has tons of hidden add ons that your not told about.

20 percent automatic gratuity, service charge and entertainment tax.add on cost 3.00$ on my beer.

i saw tons of people tipping and when they found out they they already where slamed with gratuities they where pissed and left.

now if you pay by credit card they put the itiemized bill under the long credit card bill that has a big space for gratiuties.so you doubble tip.

also had a beer at brooklny bowl it was 7.00$ no add ons and they nation touring bands

nite clubs have djs and performers all the time and entertainment no tax added on. it could be included but all we see 8$ and then we leave a tip.

didnt have food so no food review.

pss this is owned by sbe or the new sls casino that is trying to wooo people

Yikes. Very annoying when places auto grat and it's not a large group. And $11 for a Bud Light is painful, hell that's worse than a lot of stadiums. They need to realise they aren't Maquee or Hyde....they're Double Barrel at the MONTE CARLO.

and the fact they dont tell you , so your double tipping , entertianment tax and service charge is bs in my opinion.

the hardrock across the street is half the price and no add ons

Almost afraid to look and see how much they charge for a local microbrew like Tenaya Creek. I was looking forward to trying out DB but it may have been bumped down a notch now. HH at The Pub it is! At least The Pub has a special for locals.

    Great heads up.
I've seen auto gratuities for large groups and at private clubs but not for a beer on the strip.
I was looking forward to stopping here on my upcoming trip but I'll pass for now!

Thanks for the heads up! I seriously can't believe there are places opening up with the nerve to add hidden, deceiving charges like that.. I had seen something (must have been on vegaschatter) about Cabo Wabo Cantina also adding a hidden fee that was then taxed.... They don't warn you either. That's flat out sickening to me.

This better not become the norm... or else! :grrr:

Sugar Factory does something similar recently.

    Hey!

As long as we keep going to Vegas, they will keep tacking on hidden fees. It's the new way. Get comfy!

    Thanks for the heads up!!

It's off our list now. That's a bit too much extra crap to add on.

Kind of like room service. Although it clearly says gratuity and service fee added, I would say 90% of people add another 20% in our hotel. Not only do they add 20%, they add 20% of the TOTAL, so they are tipping on the tip, tax, and service fee. I tried to get management to remove the line for extra gratuity, because I personally think it is unethical.

The failure to tell you about it is ridiculous, but the fact that they leave space on the credit card receipt for an additional tip is beyond egregious. I dislike auto-gratuities on their own (though I do think they can be helpful for large groups), but this sort of underhandedness is something I absolutely can't deal with.

There was a place here in the city that I went to once which not only added an auto-grat and printed the credit card receipt without a mention of it, but had a nerve to include "suggested tip" percentages on the credit card receipt, based on the total included the auto-grat. Insane. I never went back again.

It was Vegas Chatter or Vital Vegas that said the Sugar Factory (Paris) and Cabo Wabo Cantina (PHo) have some sort of Property Concession add on fee for those eating food. Not sure if that also applied to people sitting just to have drinks (but would believe so).

They only way these run on fee's is going to stop is if people start voting with their money, and avoid places with this practice. So get the word out on places with un-necessary sucker bet add on fee's.

If we don't put a stop to it, then it will spread like the way of 6/5 BJ.

Get the Word out, and avoid these places.

Thanks to the OP for the eye opener, for we would have likely doubled tipped, as the bartender says thank you with a :evillaugh to themselves.
    Little snots! :Þ
