So sad. He had recently lost 200 pounds trying to get healthy. http://www.post-gazette.com/local/city/2014/04/06/Comedian-John-Pinette-50-dies-in-Pittsburgh-hotel/stories/201404060212
Very sad, indeed. We very much enjoyed his comedy routines, and had looked forward to seeing him again. R-I-P John .....
I'd never heard of him before, thank heavens for youtube because here he is talking about Vegas and buffets. Pretty funny.
Someone else here had posted a video of him just last week in another thread...I had forgotten how funny he was...I was rolling on the floor...and quoting the jokes all week...coincidently, at work, we commented on his health...too bad...talented man...
I can't even count the number of times I have said, "You been here four hour. You go now" in various conversations.
I never saw him in person but I've enjoyed him on youtube for years. One of my favorites, making fun of Las Vegas summer heat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GnFGxOWgt8
I have also found John Pinette to be hysterical and very saddened by the news of his untimely death. The buffet stories are some of his best, but if you get the opportunity, try to find videos of when he talks about his experience at a water slide park...truly fantastic stuff. RIP John P.
I had no idea who he was by name but today I was watching that food show he did Ned then they showed his name. I thought, so that is John Pinette. He was really funny. Sad to see someone die so young.
Sorry I had to add something here. About 10 years ago I was watching perform at a comedy club on amateur night. John Pinette came in to try out some new material. He did stand up for about 45 minutes and had us all crying with laughter. Absolutely a funny man and a big loss. About two months after seeing him perform his impromptu act, I bumped into him walking the streets of NYC. I just wanted to shake his hand and tell him how much I enjoy his comedy. He actually spent about ten minutes talking to me. Truly a good hearted man.
