We are all gamblers. Some of us would probably bet on anything that moves. So my question is, while sitting at a table, what's the craziest side bet you've ever made with someone else sitting at the table?

Last week I was sitting at a BJ table and the guy next to me keeps scratching his back. Then he starts complaining about the tag on his shirt.

He looks at me and says "you think they have a pair of scissors back there?"

I said, "Even if they do, they're not about to hand them to you."

He said, "Let's find out. I bet you a dollar they have scissors back there somewhere."

I said, "OK, but he has to hand them to you, too."

    "Deal."

So he asks the pit boss and the pit boss starts rummaging through the drawers looking for damn scissors! I swear, the whole table was on hold watching this guy to see if he would come up with a pair of scissors. How ridiculous! lol. Anyway, no scissors. The buck stayed on the table until the waitress cam back around and I threw it on top of my normal red chip tip.

Forgive me if there are inaccuracies in this story,
but I read on this board about a fun blackjack table in The Mansion that called in a to-go order from Fatburger. They bet about $400 on how wrong or right the order would be.

A few years back my buddy and I would have $1 riding on which elevator would come first. Every trip back and forth to the room.
I don't remember if either one was ahead by the end of the trip, but at least we had some action! :evillaugh

I believe it was a $5,000 bet from V3gasJunkie who sent a limo from the Mansion to In & Out Burger. He had struck up a conversation with another big better who also put his food order in with the limo. V3 bet the order would somehow be wrong...and the bet was made. In the end, he won the bet, and I believe it was a missing order of fries which made the order inaccurate.

Peanutmnm was a witness to the bet if memory serves me correctly.

I haven't heard from V3 in years but his trip reports were the best.

My group makes dollar side bets for EVERYTHING! They usually arise from just general conversations...

We have a few long term ones going:
-Will we land humans on Mars in our lifetime (before 2060), I saw no.
-Will a paper be published stating we have discovered AND CAN RE-ENGINEER the gene that determines mathematical aptness in our lifetime (before 2060), I saw no.

We have made a few quick ones in Vegas on whether or not the CW will remember a drink or not, if she will have bottles of water with her when she arrives.

We placed a nickel in the planter near the Lion's Share slot a few years ago and we bet on whether or not it would still be there this past trip...it was not

Pretty much whenever we have a disagreement about anything we put a dollar on it

Playing craps with a couple buddies at Aria in January.
Shooter hit a point and several numbers.

Up walks Mr. Bad Etiquette DB and squeezes in next to the shooter.
Then throws $2K in cash down as the shooter is about to toss.
Everyone at the table is not happy as the game goes on hold.

You can probably guess what happens next.Big Red.

So the dealers cleanup the table and they push the dice to Mr.Bad Etiquette.
    Shooter comes out on 5.

I turn to my buddies and pulled a green chip out of the rack.
I quietly say,I'm taking the under on 5 rolls till we see 7.

They both took the bet as we were laughing.
We did not play either side of the lines .they were rooting for him and me against him.
He's sevened out on his sixth shot so I lost but actually saved a lot had I bet on him.

Years ago at The Riv. I'm at third base playing BJ. There were two guys to my right who were having the time of there life, betting small but both were on a roll. The guy furthest to my right gets dealt a 6 & 7 of clubs vs. a dealers 10. The guy to my immediate right tells his buddy "If you double that and draw the eight of clubs I'll pay for both of our rounds of golf tomorrow." The other dude hems and haws but eventually says ok. Sure enough, he places the double down bet, the dealer places the card face down under his chips. Dealer then reveals her hole card, an eight of clubs, and when she gets to the dude with the double down bet she turns over his card and BOOM it was the eight of clubs.

Granted it was a relatively small wager, and side bet with his buddy, but I've always remembered that as I'm sure these two guys reminisce about it every time they tee it up together on the first hole.

At the blackjack table, whenever somebody tells me I'm making the wrong move or criticizes me, I always say "I'll bet you $100 that the book says this is the right play and you are wrong."

No one ever takes me up on it. :evillaugh

Regardless if it the machine moved or not, they probably didnt move planters around

I admittedly get turned around in MGM, and I'm always vegas drunk if I'm there, but I'm pretty sure it moved at least between my march '13 and August '13 trps.

Also, I suck at making jokes

Lower the bet to the table minimum, carry a basic strategy card and I'll bet you have some takers in the future.

My BIL and I were playing craps at the Plaza a couple of years ago. In comes a group of 3 or 4 guys with a couple of hookers and they head for our table. One of the women was hanging all over a guy and her bracelet/watch kept getting hung up in his sweater and pulling threads until she can get it lose.
BIL says I'll bet you a black that he tells her to get lost because she is ruining his sweater. No bet, I said, he will give it to here, the sweater that is right here...One more thread pull and he took the sweater off and threw it to her and said " You want it more than me, now beat it. Everyone was laughing and MY BIL gives me a black and says it was worth it even though we didn't bet. The guy then says my wife is going to be POed because she bought me that sweater.

Betting reds on sumo wrestling matches in the hotel room for 2 hours was strangely fun. Also throwing a green on all or nothing never hurt anyone.
