I have stayed on and off strip and downtown. That being said when I stay on the strip it's not as long as off strip. Probably because of less people, less hassle and find it more fun. More of a fan of the 4 corners than up MGM way or around the TI area. Just a preference.

Always pretty much half and half comparing staying on the Strip and then Downtown.

Short trip is 4 days. Normal is 5-6. Sometimes 7 nights.

Only on the strip, so I guess strip is longer.

My trips are what they are no matter where I stay! 1-4 nights usually. I find it too overbearing to stay longer than that. So I take many short trips a year.

We usually only go for 2-3 nights, on strip or off.

    from the east coast.
only staying on the strip. 4-6 nights each stay.
one evening in downtown was enough for us.
we gave downtown a shot, but decided it's just not for us.
worst experience was that a BJ dealer at the 4Q changed a $100 bill in 19 $5 chips. nice try.

I am a 5 day/4 night guy these days regardless of where I stay. Every once and awhile, I may have to shorten it by 1 night, but my preference is the 5/4 set up.

Kinda of in a dilemma answering this question/comment. Like you, I like the convenience of the "4 corners area", usually staying at Harrahs.

However, the only hassle I encounter on the Strip are finding VP machines to play at night, both at the bars as well as the main casino floor, due in large part to a reduction in VP machines in favor of slots. No such problem at Palms, GC or Orleans. It's also why I do a lot of my VP playing in the early morning hours on the Strip.

Edited to add: Returning to your question, my stay on the Strip ( as well as my overall trip) is now longer, but only because of the ridiculous flight prices makes me want to squeeze in as many days in Vegas as my gambling budget will allow.

I can't pry my wife off the strip.....maybe in the near future as it's getting VERY pricey on the strip...(and we get 5 night comp room)

But yesterday I did extend our mid April trip one more day.....so it will be 5 days instead of 4 which makes a LOT of sense taking into consideration of this damn winter. I am starting to believe what they say about WNY....it only has 2 seasons, Winter and the 4th of July.....grrrrrrrr

Usually stay for a week, 2-3 days off strip. The rest on the strip, wouldn't feel like I was in Vegas otherwise.

For the last 3 trips, I have split trips between Mirage and Golden Nugget. Last time it was a 5-3 split.

My plan for my next trip is a 4-3 split between Monte Carlo and GN.

I can see as I ripen that it will start to switch to more time on Fremont. It's just so much easier to get around and offers so much more to a person of more modest income.

Usual is 4 nights, sometimes 5, but, but we do visit 5-6 times per year and have found 4 nights to be the sweet spot.

Haven't stayed on the Strip in ~12 years. Except for this upcoming trip at Suncoast, it's MSS.

We typically stay 6-8 nights, which is about what it takes for us to justify airfare, travel hassles, and take advantage of room offers. We haven't stayed on the Strip since the Stardust went down, and seldom even visit except for shows. Checking my notes, I've stayed at no fewer than 14 different Strip properties; but these days, we just stay off-Strip and downtown.

Many years back, we started doing 4-night trips (once a year), staying on the strip ... then gravitated to 5-night stays (twice a year) off-Strip at the Gold Coast & Orleans. And now, for the last 12 years, have been doing 7-night stays (3 times a year) on Fremont Street, mostly at Main Street Station.

Retirement is a wonderful thing ....

I differ from most on here in that the longest I have ever been in vegas is 4 nights. Most of the time I do a weekend or 3 days. Its not really intentional, but the pattern seems that if its for 2 nights, Im on strip. 3 or more, I am downtown.
