Which gun range to visit?

I'm going to Vegas next month and we want to go to The Gun Store. We went in 2012 and really enjoyed it. It's a little ways off the Strip but we had a rental. We showed up in the afternoon and were told there was a three hour wait (or more, I don't remember) so we returned the next morning at 9am as we were told there'd be no line. I'd say we probably waited an hour.

As much as we enjoyed it and want to go again, I know there are other ranges. Anyone have a preference or recommendation? I'd love to be able to make a reservation but I'm not spending an extra $100 but I really dislike waking up that early.

 

I like the Las Vegas Gun Range -- no nonsense guys, and are willing to accommodate if you call ahead. A bit of a ways off strip, on Blue Diamond Rd.

 

Depends on what you mean by gun range. If you want to shoot some bad ass guns go to Battlefield Las Vegas. If you just want to shoot, then Range is good. If you you want to shoot a gun at dirt, go to Paiute

Good Gun ranges

Canadian here from Toronto.

I'm not interested in firing off an uzi in 10 seconds and be done etc.

What I am looking for is somewhere that they can teach me how to take apart and put back together the guns (say a Beretta or SigSauer 9mm and an AK-47/MP-5/M16 etc). Then I'd of course like to fire them at targets on the range.

Any shop that can accommodate this type of this with appropriate safety training for a day?

 

I don't want to do the Battlefield thing or shoot into the dirt. I'd go back to The Gun Store but I hate having to show up early. Does anyone know if The Gun Store would ever consider a 2-for-1 VIP? We'd pay $100 to book a time but not $200.

On a lads trip a couple years ago we went to Machine Guns Vegas, they have different packages on offer, also if you ring them they will pick you up from your hotel and drop you back there when you have finished.

 

We love to shoot trap or rifles at the Clark county shooting range. $10 for a gun rental less than $20 for ammo. You can shoot all day against an incredible backdrop of Gass mountain. No auto or exotic weapons so don't know it will do it for you, but for the value you could spend the day shooting to your hearts content for under $50, never a wait, great people to serve you, and a beautiful outdoor setting.

Wonderful outdoor setting. I'm not a gun person but we used to live near there and if the wind was blowing in just the right direction, we could hear it in our back yard. I've read a couple of reports that it is not attracting nearly the # of shooters they thought it would.

Pretty cleaver and no worries.

The biggest reason I would go with Range702 is that they have those puck type things that flash when your time comes up which the Gun Store didn't. When we went to the gun store we stood in a long line for about an hour and it was just a pain in the ass.

At 702 the venue is newer, larger and you can sit down, order food and non-alcoholic rinks and relax while waiting.

I'm also working on getting my restricted license here in Canada to get a hand gun and I though both had good stores to browse and the guys working there were pretty helpful.

At 702 I won a ticket to recycled percussion for my grouping with the 44 magnum so that was also a bonus.

Depending on what you want to shoot I don't know which one would have the better selection though...

I would be interested to see how the indoor ranges compare with the outdoor ranges as well.

While the Clark county gun range sounds very affordable to the Strip alternatives it also seems it does not carry many options when it comes to renting guns.

 

WOW, I am surprised how many folks here take interest in the gun ranges, especially to spend a great deal of hard earned cash to play. I would've never thought that.
