What are some of your favorite customer service experiences? And where did it take place? What are some simple touches that made the difference for you? We talk a lot about how customer service has gone down in recent years, so let's give credit where credit is due for those people who still know how to provide great service.

In the way back when, there was a gal in CCS (casino customer service) at the old Rio when I first started staying there. Long story short, she treated me better than any host I ever had and I looked her up before every trip.

I've lost count on how many times I stayed at the Orleans but every time check in was easy breezy. Even when it was too early. Even when we had to ask to change rooms. I love that place :blowkiss:

I love the VIP check-in room at Golden Nugget. $25 for the entire visit, well worth it. Impeccable service.

once, at the coffee shop downstairs at binion's when i handed the check to the cashier with extra cash, i said, " i need some one's."

she looked up at me, and said..."how about please."

i was slightly shocked, and then had to smile, and not only said please, but thank you for reminding me about my manners. she smiled back too and said thanks.

i have probably ever since tried to meet someone at a cashier's cage, or in a restaurant, or anywhere else in the service industries there with a smile and a please and thank you. a smile and thank you, along with the tip, go a lot further with a cocktail waitress than just the tip.

Man, I know I seem to rant about NOBU, but there has never been a cooler check in than arriving at Caesars and telling the taxi guy (I'm Mr Dave, checking in at NOBU" and then a pretty young lady with an iPad and a young man with a NOBU labeled luggage cart immediately show up, and escort me directly to my room, without stopping at any desk, and completed the check in while sitting in my room on her iPad, and then giving me a tour of the room, letting me know the sandals are mine to keep, and then my green tea service arrived, along with an assortment of snacks like a tall glass of popcorn that can only be described as "Jelly Belly Popcorn" because each piece had a different flavor.
It was just the best and most relaxing arrival I have ever done, anywhere.

Second for me is there is a very nice middle aged Asian woman in the HL slot cage at Paris, who, over the last few years, remembers my name and always welcomes me back like a long lost friend "Oh, hello Mr David, nice to see you back" and whenever she pays me out a TITO she rubs the money and says "I'll make it lucky money for you." The fact that she always remembers me, and remembers my name, without seeing a card or ID, makes me feel special and like the biggest player in the place.

Third was the fantastic and personal attention some friends of mine from Germany and myself received from our waiter at the bar at L'atelier by Joel Robuchon. He was fast, funny, friendly and patient with some who had concerns with items on the tasting menu (not liking seafood, for example). Some of the best service I have ever received. I also explained that I enjoyed cooking, so he then explain that he too is a trained chef, but only waiting for a slot to open for him to be a sous chef, so he would explain how many of the dishes were prepared in detail, like how the potatoes are so smooth (lots and lots of butter and hand pressed through a fine sieve many times)

They're not used to it and it catches them off guard

Years ago, late 1970s, we (three of us) arrived at the Stardust one day early for our reservation. When we got to the front of the line at the desk the guy said they were totally sold out. "He said, but don't worry, I'll get you a room ..." and he picked up the phone and phoned a motel downtown and made sure they could accommodate us. When we got down there they were expecting us and we had a hassle-free extra evening in LV.

I haven't heard of them doing anything like that in years.

Also, in that era, most of our extended family was at the Stardust but some were in the Tam O Shanter across the street and down a ways. I needed to phone so I called to the operator to see if they had the number for the Tam O Shanter. She said "What's your party's name at the Tam, I'll get them for you."

Gold Spike a few years ago, shortly after the major overhaul. I had booked 1 night at the Plaza, and the next 4 at Gold Spike. I had a package shipped to the Gold Spike, so I walked down to get it around 7am. Nicest young man I have encountered at a front desk in Vegas. He insisted on getting me into a room right away, even though I told him I was fine until afternoon. He moved things around, and upgraded me to a suite on the top floor, and sent a housekeeper up to clean it. That made my trip, and kept me going back until it closed.

Aah, the Tam O Shanter. The very first place I stayed in Vegas on my first trip in 1973. Thanks for that memory.

Host Fred at Suncoast. I cold email him and say we are looking to check the place out and give him my B Connected info. I tell him we are going to split our stay between SC & MSS. This was back in December.

He comps us a 1 bedroom suite and arranges transportation from MSS to Suncoast and because we had an early flight on Christmas, he arranged for the security guy to drive us to the airport. OK, no limo, but on the other hand, we had no history there.

Ha! Forget that I'd rather have a security drive me than a limo, especially if it was in an imposing looking SUV or something. Seriously whats a limo? Its just a typical car service sedan that's stretched out a bit and driven by a taxi driver in a cheap suit. They're a dime a dozen in Vegas. Being driven around by security is baller though.

Everytime we stay at Encore. From the time we roll in and the Bellman opens our door and says welcome to Encore. The guys are right there to get you bags and are quick to give you your ticket so you can be on your way to check-in. Then at check-in they always say, "welcome back to Encore Mr & Mrs xxxx, your host has you in a high south facing room, is that what you'd like today?". Then the bellhop shows up w/ our bags and again, welcomes us back to Encore and always mentions that they're glad to see us back.

Another class thing that Steve asks his cleaning people do is if you're walking down the hall and they're vacuuming, they stop, shut off the vaccum and wait for you to pass and always aknowledge you with a "good morning, afternoon or evening". Especially nice if you're w/ your SO and you're having a conversation. Is that necessary? Probably not but just typical of all the liitle things that Steve Wynn incorporates into the daily business of his hotels.

We got to know a lady real well that for year was the bar tender out at the Dolphin Pool at the Mirage and one day we saw her out at the Adult/Euro pool at Wynn and it was great to see her again. She said Steve brought her over the last year and it was great to be working for the best in Vegas again.

That pretty much says it all.

Yep, it was a SUV and truth be told I find limos uncomfortable to enter and exit. But MSS contracts with Bell, so it is always a stretch limo. IMO, a town car would be more comfortable.

I don't drink alcohol and seldom order anything from a cocktail waitress. One morning I was playing a slot at Harrah's and the cocktail waitress put 2 bottles of water on my machine without even being asked. She said " you need to stay hydrated in Vegas! Enjoy your stay" I thought that was the most thoughtful gesture she could have made. And yes, I definitely tipped her for it.

Stayed at Bellagio with my then GF for her 21st (I was 20). We arrived the day before here actual Bday as she planned on buying her first drink and gambling for the first time right at midnight. When midnight struck she bought us drinks (didnt get carded to her dismay) and then she wanted to gamble, but she wanted to get her players card first. We walked over the the Mlife desk and it was closed, she was obviously disappointed and it must have shown because an associate (I think in security but was wearing a suit) asked her if he could help her with something. She told him that she just turned 21 and she wanted to get her players card before she gambled, he said "give me a minute and I will have someone help you". He spoke into his earpiece/microphone thingy and within a minute someone had walked over to the Mlife desk to help her. They said it would be a few minutes while the computers turned on. Two minutes later she walked away with her Mlife card.

I think I remember the (very few) bad experiences more because they're so rare. I love the customer service of Vegas.

Checking into Caesars a few years back for the first time and I ask if there are any up grades while slipping him the $20.00 sandwich. He says "yes" and then says "for $$$$ more". I took a quick glance at the misses and then back to him and he smiles and says, "oh, you mean for free" ? Well long story short he was AWESOME!! He gave us a suite like the one in the movie from "The Hangover". It was a comp for 3 nights, Fri, Sat & Sun. I had to run back down and and give him an additional tip, it was sooo worth it! Also called my son over from the Venetian to validate it.

It's easier to remember the bad experiences than that good but I've rarely had a bad experience in LV.

One thing I remember that stood out was my friends and I were playing slots at the Cosmopolitan and we were just low rolling penny slots at 40 cents a spin. The slot supervisor came by and made sure to talk with us and ask us how we were doing and hoped we were enjoying ourselves. She then noted our drinks were getting low, hailed a waitress and we had fresh ones in no time at all. I thought that was a great touch. It definitely made me want to come back
