Best place for a hot dog on the strip

Getting close to my brother and I annual trip to Las Vegas. We usually eat burgers and lots of them at a variety of places. This time we want to try a hotdog. Where is the best place you have eaten a hotdog on the strip?

Its a hot dog, no need to over pay for it.

The best deal you can get for a decent dog is at the stage door behind the new cromwell. Hot dogs should be cheap and questionable, not gourmet.

Agree with Pinks, theirs are probably the only hot dogs in the area with a natural casing, which makes all the difference. They are becoming rarer and rarer to find nowadays, especially outside of ethnic enclaves.

I'm wondering the same thing. I thought the 1/4-pound hot dog was gone, but I don't know that for a fact. I'm still wondering if anyone serves a 1/-4 pound hot dog these days. Not a foot long hot dog, a 1/4-pound beast. Strip or elsewhere.

 

As it happens, I was recently looking at the food options at MGM Grand and looked at Stage Deli's menu - and they have a 1/4 LB Jumbo Hot Dog on their menu. I plan on giving it a try in June.

 

If you have a car Great Links Hot Dogs and Grill is very solid. Friends who live there brought us out there before we went to Fremont Street. Did the Deluxe chili dog with the upgrade to the 1/4 pounder. After a night of drinking...well...I'll leave it there.

Not sure if you can bus it or what it costs to take a cab.

Oh yeah, there's a new Haute Doggery at the Linq. Have never eaten at one so I have no idea if they are good or not.

My go-to was always the tiny hot dog stand run by a little old lady inside the sportsbook at Barbary Coast/Bill's.

 

Yes the 1/4 pound hot dogs are gone.They were at the old Westward Ho.I remember going there as far back as a kid.I believe they were 99 cents. You could get Hot Dog a huge foot long with Chili a Shrimp Cocktail or A Strawberry shortcake all huge man I miss that place.

The only time I had a giant dog at Westward Ho, it was a 3/4-pound dog. That was in 2000, and it was 75 cents. I retired from the giant hot dog circuit after that, and now, 14 years later, I want to come out of retirement.

 

I like when the menu at some of these places say "Gourmet" hotdog...what is "Gourmet" about a hotdog, they are made of lips and assholes, nothing "Gourmet" about that. :evillaugh

Those of you questioning the gourmet dog trend, would be wise to check out Hot Doug's next time you are in the Chicago area....(those these are technically various types of sausages, not hot dogs....all served on hot dog buns though)
