Unlike Vegas, they are dealing from a shoe, and keeping a 3:2 payout for BJ, while the dealer stands on soft 17. . Hopefully the pole dancers will be as hot as those in Vegas.

Maybe its an east coast thing, but I do not remember seeing any live tables in Delaware or Maryland that are H17 or 6:5

What are BJ conditions like in your local casino? Do you have a "party pit" too?

 

Wish I could answer that one. I live in Mass and though casino gambling was approved approx 2 years ago, I doubt I'll see live casino action here in my lifetime

 

We definitely don't have a "party pit" in the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. Table limits can be pretty high on the weekend, too. Starting at $15 for a "live" game and $5-10 for the touchscreen games.

 

I haven't been to my local casino in quite sometime but all payouts were 3/2 last time I was there. I figure it's only a matter of time before 6/5 is spread everywhere. I do like the "party pits" but only if they keep the payouts at 3/2.

 

I was always a fan of playing craps at Mandalay in their "Party Pit".

 

In Detroit we have three casinos: Greektown, MotorCity, and MGM Grand Detroit.

Of the three only MGM Grand Detroit has a party pit. BJ pays 6-5, 8 decks, blah blah blah. People can bet as little as $1 per hand in the party pit. However there will be a table minimum posted (usually $10 or $15), and any bet under the minimum will cost $.25 to play.

It'd hardly even be considered a party pit by Vegas standards, it's just normal dealers dressed normally.

The only good thing about the party pit is every now and then they will have red lights flashing for an hour, and during that time BJ pays 3-2 and any time you split aces and make 21, it pays like a blackjack.

 

You can thank PA's and MD's lawmakers for that. 3:2 and S17 are required there. The gaming control board in PA thought it was really important to have these rules for BJ, but they still thought double zero roulette was okay. Poor roulette players. :evillaugh

I assume MD just copied most of PA's laws since the market is a big success. Casinos would never offer this under their own will as that would be dumb. Hopefully the minimum bet of that pleasure pit doesn't stay sky high forever.

I have yet to see 6:5 in St. Louis, and I've never seen S17 or surrender there. Still Midwest standard rules.

It's been a year or so but I had hoped that hadn't changed. Table mins had been creeping up and I had to play $15 a hand last time I went locally (I usually start at $10) on a weekday night. Otherwise St. Louis is a decent place to play since they did away with the whole loss limit inconvenience.
