Does low play at Beau Rivage impact mlife status in Vegas?

I will be in Biloxi in the near future (don't ask) and I would imagine I will stop by the Beau Rivage just to see it as I have never been and may never be back. It is unlikely that I will play very much, if at all, but I am sitting on a decent amount of express comps from play in LV. I'll be tempted to use these on a nice dinner.

Does anyone have DIRECT EXPERIENCE doing anything like this? I give Aria and Bellagio some significant play and I do not want to create a zero play/very low play trip in Biloxi if this is going to impact my standing in LV in any way.

I know CET has different "gaming markets" and if you low play in one of their outlying casinos in the Midwest, for example, it doesn't impact your ADT at Caesars Palace or the LV market as a whole. Does anyone know if mlife works the same way, or is it just a big mistake to zero play and use ECs in Biloxi?

Not sure if I can totally answer the question.

If you are going to low play, well under your norm, then do not use the card.

If you are going to do dinner and want to use EC, well, go ahead and play. I really do not KNOW if that card activity will set things off, but I would guess it would.

They have some very good food at the Beau. Wonderful place. Steak House is awesome. Asian is very good - actually a very good steak there.

Yeah, my instincts tell me to just keep the card in my pocket and pay for dinner. Thanks for your input.

Beau Rivage is a wonderful place. We have stayed there four times now.

As others have said, not sure how that would affect you. At the level you play at, you can afford the price for one dinner, keep the card in your pocket, and not have to worry about this.

Willing to risk it, for a comp dinner? :evillaugh

I don't know the answer to your question but I do know that we never got comps at MLife props in Vegas until we took a trip to Biloxi and stayed/played at Beau. After that trip we've been getting all kinds of comped rooms at higher end Vegas properties.

I can't speak for Beau Rivage, but I low play at at Goldstrike in Tunica a couple times a year (less than a $100), I also have bigger weekend trips to Goldstrike a couple times a year. I always have free rooms, free play, and f&b at Mandalay Bay and Aria. My host at at Mandalay Bay says it doesn't matter to him what I do in Tunica.

May not matter to host, but it will matter to the marketing computer in the sky. Not saying you will not get offers, but the marketing folks will look at play and make decisions based on play.

By the way, as a result of strong play at the Beau, and then at Gold Strike, we got our first offers from MGM in Vegas at Bellagio. We had always been CET folks in Vegas but marketing saw our play at the Beau and offered us nice upfront and hooked us.

Keep in mind that marketing does UPFRONT comps/offers with expectations of play based on past play. Marketing does not do backend comps. And, even if you lowplay, whatever you were offered to come in, you still get.

A host gives some upfront and can do lots of backend, based on play for current trip. Much of what a host does upfront is often tied to some marketing offer. Other parts of upfront are still based on expected play, and might change.

Yes, a very good Aria host once told me she can "look through" a low play trip even in LV when I don't stay at an mlife property. Problem is, the computers definitely can't. Other problem is, after I "dropped in" for some light play at Bellagio once when I was staying at CP, she couldn't put me in a suite for my next trip because of a low average bet on that "non-trip" she supposedly could "look through."

I suppose I've answered my own question. W..TUBE is right, I'm just not willing to risk major benefits for the sake of one dinner. Everyone please feel free to add additional input if you have it, though. Do hosts in LV even see play in Biloxi?

    Pretty sure they do.

And does it matter. Hosts tend to comp actual play for current trip. (vs marketing that is based on history)

I think shifter or someone posted in the past that they do see Biloxi play and vice-versa. If you search through old Beau threads he had a lot of input.

The play definitely does trigger something across MLife properties because I visited Beau Rivage once several years ago, played and was getting offers from them for a while until I was away from MGM casinos for a few years and mail from all of them stopped. But after I started playing at them again in Vegas some offers from Beau started coming again as well.

All of this is pointing toward no EC use and no rated play in Biloxi...

This is what gets me. We play and receive comps. If we have comps/EC's from previous trips saved up, why cant we use them without hurting our avgs, etc?

We already saved our ec's from our previous 1-100 trips from gambling.

I haven't done Biloxi but I did MGM Detroit.

I didn't use any EC's but just threw in my card.

I didn't play much. I knew I wasn't going to play much....it screwed up everything.

Now, the offers come weekly, from Detroit (where I've been once) and the offers from Vegas have turned the other way...trickle in.

    It's not worth it IMHO.

    '

This was the data point I was looking for. Thanks. Not the answer I wanted, but I'm glad I have it now. It is irritating that you cannot go ahead and use ECs without "screwing everything up."

They are not saying at all that you can not use them. Really.

What you do need to understand is they have to decide what each gambler is worth in offers. The only decent/easy way is to track average play. That is based on each visit to the casino/resort.

Once you have "triggered" a visit, the counter starts. They are not penalizing anyone. Just tracking the data.

They could make an assumption that you sometimes visit and play very little, if at all. And, do they want to offer you a room and food and show tickets knowing the next trip might be a dud?

Yes, it sucks in some cases, but just the way it is.

Personally, at both CET and MGM - there have been trips where I leave a $100 food coupon or $200 freeplay in my pocket. I know it will cost me more in the long run.

This does all make logical sense--of course the best upfront comps are going to be given to those with a history of heavy play every time they set foot in a casino. It sometimes makes sense to game the system a little bit even if it has a short term cost.

Does anyone know if accessing the Diamond Lounge at a local Harrah's property messes up the ADT and offers? I play big in Vegas, but I head to the local casino just to get something to eat and gamble lower stakes.

I am under the impression that it does impact your overall ADT with CET, but CET segments itself regionally so low play in an outlying region is not supposed to impact offers in the Las Vegas market.

It might impact your ability to get a strong offer at a new property in a new region you have never been before.

A big question. Some are positive it does. Some are not.

I can tell you this. If you go online to Total Rewards to check your current points, etc. it has a date of your last "activity" or something. My experience is that a visit has not changed that date.

    Might, might not.
