Where to eat before Cognac tasting and show

We are trying to find a place for a nice meal before a Cognac tasting at Monte Carlo and a show at Luxor. This will be our one high end meal of the trip. Would like a nice steak, but open to other suggestions. Main point of posting the question is logistics.

Dinner 7 PM
Cognac Tasting 9PM
Show 10:30 PM

Will be coming from Mirage. Open to dinner around there or close to Monte Carlo.

Side note: one suggestion was Javier's at Aria... any good?

Not a problem at all. There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum and planning the trip is half the fun. To your reply, I say

 

since you are asking this question after being a veteran of 12 trips to las vegas, i could surmise that you might already be thinking that you are trying to push one too many things into the time frame?

i, like you, cannot think of anything right at the monte carlo, especially at the level of dining you suggest.

for what it is worth, congrats on getting to go to a cognac tasting, that is special unto itself, i think.

 

For just 19k LPs on MyVegas and you can get the Cognac tasting. I believe you get 3 samples ranging from $12-$35 per glass. Maybe Andre's right at Monte Carlo will work.

 

That is OK with me if you do not get the intent of the post. Where else but Vegas would you find a questions based on that situation.

You will not find it on the Cruise Critic forum (the VMB for cruises), or on any other forum.

Vegas is unique, and it always has unique questions that make me laugh.... Only In Vegas do people have problems like these.

 

Ah yea, I agree completely. Nice to not think about real world issues and look forward to Vaca... The word problem threw me for a loop, but you're absolutely right.

 

Haha, so you are saying that only in vegas people are looking to eat a nice dinner before whatever they got planned for the evening. I understand that this not might be as big of an issue at a cruiseship but in any major city you can find people asking similar questions.

To OP i would recommend STK, Prime, GR Steak or Jean Georges for a good steak close to Monte Carlo.

 

We have always had great meals at Andre's at the Monte Carlo. Unless something drastic has changed there since our last visit, I can't imagine being disappointed with the food or the service. In the past it has always been top notch.

 

In my viewpoint, I think it is fantastic that this situation exist. Yea, have to agree, our cruises are lame compared to the problems people have (and now more informed, TY, not only just in Vegas).

I just get such a kick out of it. We can't afford these wonderful problems, so we get to live them though others like you.

Our world is either Vegas or Cruises (side trips to Biloxi/Tunica). Still, we are grateful to be able to do these two wonderful vacation variations!

 

I'd go to Jean George or Mastro's Ocean Club

 

All I'm saying is that its always better to do some research first before dining out no matter what your budget is. I say it might be even more important if you are on a budget and still like to enjoy a great meal. Why not use this board and take advantage of its knowledge. Sure its a nice problem to have to choose from many great restaurants but why not pick our brains before making a decision on were to go.

I have picked the brains (and got excellent responses) as I have done so on many other topics here. How the hell did anyone plan Vegas Vacations before the web, and especially, before sites such as the VMB?

I also return what little advice I can, back to the forums.

Since you are at Monte Carlo, my first thought was Andre's.

Plus, Andre's has a nice selection of Cognac.
