Hi, wanted to give my other half a taste of what many call "old school" vegas. Hugo's Cellar seemed to fit the bill; however since I went there when I got married (to someone else) I feel rather funny going there now for a variety of reasons. Looking for any suggestions that might just come close.

If you're looking downtown, the Redwood, Second St Grill, or Binions Steakhouse. While the Flame, inside ElCo has good food, IMO, the atmosphere is lacking for what you are looking for. None of them are going to make a salad at the table or hand out a rose.

On the Strip I highly recommend The Steak House inside Circus. You can't get more old school than that. As mentioned, Golden Steer also a good choice.

    Binion's Steakhouse.

    At sunset.

    Make a reservation.

    It is quiet.

Vic & Anthony's at the Golden Nugget might fit the bill.

    Andiamo's at The D

Andiamo's at The D has an interesting and varied menu... the food was excellent, I drool just looking at their online menu. Look at Trip Advisor or Yelp for more info and recommendations. Ask for a booth... it's more of an "old Las Vegas" feel.

Off strip, I've heard that Michael's Gourmet Room at South Point is incredible.

    I mentioned Binion's.

Now I think I would choose Andiamos instead. Andiamos has VERY good food, splendid service & is priced comparable to Hugo's.

Second St grill inside Fremont is my favorite:peace: Triple George (around the corner on 3rd I think) is yummy and fun but not quite as romantic old school. More "fun" old school....

Well it's down to these three, Redwood Grill, Binions Steakhouse, Vic and Anthonys; anyone ever done the "distinctive dinner"? Side note, Redwood isn't the place that has the ad with the HUGE lobster is it. I believe that's the Rosewood but want to make sure

I did the distinctive dining menu last year at Vic and Anthony's. It was a good deal, however I think the waiter might have been a little put off by it. Service was just meh for us there. Food was very good though.

Like a couple of others have said, Andiamo's is the best restaurant in all of DT. And although new, they have done a great job of recreating a nice room that does look "old school". The food there is amazing.

Redwood is Outback quality. Skip it.

Binions has the best view though, by far.

Have not tried Redwood. Vic & Anthony's food is better than Binions. Both are good but V&A is better, Binion's though has much more of an old Vegas feel. At Binion's it almost felt like it was 1960.

Redwood is NOT the one with the big lobster in the ad.

Casa di Amore on E Tropicana gets pretty good write ups on TA. I have only been once, a few years ago, food was good and they have a crooner knocking out Sinatra/60,s/70,s old school stuff.Plan on going this trip. They will pick you up in their limo which is a bonus.
