Well.....let's see how weird we are.

We always take along a few small tapestries we have collected while travelling to hang over the wierd hotel art, coffee tables, and over the curtain crack to help keep morning at bay.

I also bring a very small speaker set up, a couple strings of Christmas lights to give some muted light, and a nightlight for the bathroom. Doesn't take much room or weight, and sort of reminds us of home and previous travels.

Heck.....I even rearrange the furniture some for better views.....so how weird are we ???

I don't know whether or not that's weird. I guess we will find out here. All I know is we don't do any of those things.

Yup, kinda weird. We figure we pay pretty good money for the place to cater to us. We love Bellagio and usually try to stay there so I guess they can afford their own interior decorator. If I did all that I guess we may as well stay home. Just my two cents....

    Another vote for weird.

EDIT: except for the small speakers, but those wouldn't be considered a "decoration"....that's really no different than someone bringing a laptop or an mp3 player, which is extremely common. I would also say that the bathroom nightlight falls more under "functional" than "decorative".

We don't do anything of the sort. I would say you are eccentric.

If it makes you happy and doesn't cause a disturbance, that's all that matters. Embrace your eccentricity and enjoy Vegas your way :)

I guess you trust housekeeping more than me to not take, break, or throw anything away.

I've rearranged furniture in a Vegas room.
It is usually for a sit down view of the city lights
at nite or early dawn....put my feet up and enjoy a beverage
while watching the sunrise over Sunrise Mountain.
Yup, I've done that...........but tapestries ?....and string lights ?
    nope.

A night light for the bathroom is a great idea! I'm always stumbling around in the dark, don't want to put the light on as it will wake the Mrs.

Although she normally wakes up anyway when I stub my toe in the dark and start swearing! :grrr: :)

    Wierd maybe,dangerous definitely.

No way I would ever go to sleep with a string of xmas lights burning.
    Pick up a nightlite somewhere.
But if an electrician or a firefighter tells you its ok then go for it. I'm still not doing it.

I'll move a chair or that luggage rack thing, but that's about it.

I usually leave the bathroom light on as a nightlight.

Moving furniture to maximize a view or wanting not to break a toe getting to the loo seem rather standard, as done one's own tunes. As for the other, different strokes. For me, if I'm in the Keys I really don't want to be reminded of a room in Vegas or the Vegas experience, and if in Vegas being reminded of home ain't why I'm there, either. Travel's about the new, the unique, the different from locale to locale.

    Awesome!

Soft lighting, mood music, ambiance of past memories. Nice enhancements to a special occasion.

Have I every done it? Sure, for special occasion trips that deserved some flair. But there is no way I would do it everytime. The hotel should be nice enough without my touches in the first place.
