I didn't want to hijack the other steak thread.
Will be in Vegas in June, staying on the strip. My brother is getting married and my soon to be SIL would like to have a nice meal that includes steak after the wedding. She is picky and like's natural? flavors. Looking for something not real expensive 50-60 dollars a person range. I showed her Ramsays pub and grill and Wicked Spoon buffet, she said she really wouldn't eat anything in either places...just to give ya an idea of how picky she is :licklips: Seafood is my passion when I'm in Vegas, I don't know a lot about steakhouses there. Any help would be appreciated.

There is plenty of great steakhouses in vegas. The problem is it will be hard to fit within budget. Charlie Palmer has a cut of the week special that includes a 3 course meal and wine for 49. The steakhouse at circus circus is good if you dont mind the location, otherwise you might have to look into adding a little bit in budget.

Wow.....good luck to you and yours when the holiday meals are shared amongst the families. I think I would just book what satisfies you and get an early take on how she deals with less than success.

Ellis Island is ok but more of a casual dining. Inside Paris the St.Louis cafe has an awesome Surf and turf. Also forget the name of it but there is a "cafe" inside MGM next to a starbucks that has good filet. neither would be considered a "Steakhouse" but are more upscale then casual dining. I would really check out St. Louis...it would suit the afterdinner needs perfect.

Mon Ami Gabi in Paris decently priced in a good atmosphere. Not the best cut of steak in town but again decently priced and good selection. Menu is online with plenty of reviews.

I really appreciate the suggestions ...and working hard on this...I am thinking Ellis Island just might be up her ally. Nothing too fancy but yet good food with nice portions...I have eaten at many places in Vegas and have my own favorites...I would not pick Ellis Island for my after wedding dinner...But then again it's not my wedding. I have been to the CC buffet and I was happy with it.Nothing too fancy but I didn't go away hungry like I did at MGM. I will look into the CC steak house...Does Flamingo also have a steak place?

Everyone's different, but I can't imagine Ellis Island as a good fit for what you're seeking. It's decidedly low-end ... mushy watery vegetables out of a can don't strike me as "natural" ... it's off the beaten path. I've spent time there, but it's a "cheap meal" not a "nice $40-$50/person meal." Nothing wrong with that, but everything has its place and time.

+1 for MAG. I am a fan of the higher end joints for steak, but MAG does a pretty good one at a very reasonable price.

Also, I've never eaten at Wicked Spoon, but I'm aware that it's highly regarded. When someone says that there's nothing they'll like at a fancy buffet, they might be one of those people who likes being difficult for the sake of being difficult. I mean, isn't that the whole point of a buffet? Something for everyone? Then again, even the top buffets aren't really known for steak.

Maybe Brand Steakhouse in Monte Carlo but that's w/o drinks and you do the 3 sides for $25 and a steak for 2. You may get there around $60/person.

Not awful, but there are much better places for that kind of money.

My standby is the prime rib at Lawrys. When i'm in Chicago or Vegas I have to eat here.

It allows 3-4 different types of cuts. It's in the price range she's looking for. And the sides are amazing. Plus they have a few seafood items as well.

It's not located on the strip in any casino/resort, but is only 1 mile away from Bellagio or Caesars (if you consider this mid strip) off of Flamingo Road.

Interesting. The "real" steakhouses cost $50-60 for the steak, exclusive of beverage, tax, tip, appetizers, desserts, etc.

I agree, Ile St Louis or Mon Ami Gabi are places with decent atmosphere and reasonable food where you can get a full meal for that price, which I suspect is what you are looking for. Reserve the big table for the group, select a "set" menu, pre order the wine, and you're in business. I had a large group dinner at Pinot Brasserie in the Venetian which is a similar place, maybe a bit more expensive, but would also work for your situation.

    Gallaghers at NYNY.

It has the variety that you are looking for. At a decent price and above average quality.

I have enjoyed Gallaghers and Delmonico's on my visits. The joint in Caesars (the name escapes me) wasnt as good.

Thanks all for your input. I will let my SIL see 3-4 different places...let her read reviews and see pictures....That way she gets the final say and I wont be blamed if the one she picks doesnt make her happy.
