    My Trip Report

Some things have changed a little bit since my last trip to Vegas

In August, I left the army after 14 years and started to study economics at the university in my hometown.

And after the first months of studying, it was time to return to Las Vegas for my 4th trip, again solo.

Since I wanted to combine some promos and offers, I had to move a little bit during my trip and stayed in five different hotels:

    02/20-02/23: Flamingo

I have stayed there in the past and I really like it. The hotel, the room and the casino, I think you can’t go wrong with it! GO-room for three nights for a good price and $35 food credit.

    02/23-02/25: Treasure Island

Since my first trip I was getting offers from the TI, now it was time to make use of that offers. Two nights comped, resort fee optional.

    02/25-02/27: Planet Hollywood

Two nights for a reduced rate and $50 food credit.

    02/27-02/28: Monte Carlo

I got a really good winter offer from mLife for the MC, so I booked a spa suite for one night.

    02/28/-03/02: ARIA

Standard room with city view for a reasonable price for two weekend-nights.

After playing myVegas for five months, I also had some rewards for this trip:

    - Bellagio breakfast buffet
    - Mirage breakfast buffet
    - Monte Carlo $50 dining credit (pretty hard to get this one)
    - 1 ticket to “LOVE”

What you should not expect from this trip report?

There will be no high-roller gambling, no roulette, no black-jack, no clubbing…

    What you should expect?

Burgers, poker and a lot of pictures!

    DAY 1: 02/20

Once again, the day I was waiting for has come! One of the days I don’t mind getting up at 4am ;)

Since we didn’t really have a “winter” in Germany this year, there was no snow or ice and I had no problems to get to the airport and still had four hours left until take-off.

I checked in and got a really good seat, exactly the same I had on my last trip:

After almost 12 hours flight the plane arrived at McCarran, and immigration, baggage and customs only took 15 minutes.

“Welcome back to the United States!”

Quick taxi ride to the Flamingo, 10 minutes check-in and I went to my room (20th floor):

After the long day, I walked to the Planet Hollywood to grab a quick bite:

And after the sandwich I enjoyed the sight I was waiting for since last June:

That GO room looks great! Looking forward to more pictures!

Just wondering - how did you get from hotel to hotel? All taxis? Approx how much did each leg cost? Or did you do any transfers by foot, tram, monorail, etc?

Thank you for the kind words!

Most of the time by foot. I don't mind walking longer distances, and the weather was perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. I only took a taxi when I moved from Planet Hollywood to Monte Carlo, it was about $10.

    DAY 2: 02/21

After 9 hours restful sleep I woke up at 9am. No headache, no jetlag, good start for the day!

    And talking about good starts:

After that, I went to the coffee bar at the Flamingo for a little breakfast, before I left the hotel to check out the new area around the LINQ:

I always enjoyed to have a little walk in the morning, so I went to one of the most beautiful hotels on the strip:

Maybe one day I can stay here for a few nights!

Now it was time to spend some money! I left the Wynn and got on the SDX to the Premium Outlets.

Time to play some poker! I went to the Planet Hollywood to start my first session. I was card-dead for an hour and cashed out a $60 loss.

    Today’s dinner:

When I returned to my room at 6pm, I made the same mistake that I have already made on my last trip: I closed my eyes, only for a minute…

Well, the minute ended at 3am. Did I say something about “no jetlag”?

    DAY 3: 02/23

I realized it would be impossible to fall asleep again, so what to do at 3am on a Saturday morning? I got out of bed, had a shower and walked down the strip to the Planet Hollywood to spend some hours at the poker tables.

Although it was a very good table, some drunken people, two older men wearing cowboy hats and drinking beer, I didn’t win any money. After two hours of folding small pairs on high flops and high cards on small flops I cashed out a $50 loss and went back to the Flamingo.

At 6am I got a coffee and walked through the almost empty casino. I always like watching people at this time of the day, so I sat down at a video poker machine, drank my coffee and enjoyed the morning.

And after some minutes, I got my poker losses back:

After the coffee, I headed to the buffet at the Flamingo and got a really good breakfast:

After the breakfast, I went back to my room and had a little nap (yes, only a little!).

At noon, it was time to go to my second favorite hotel:

And of course, I also played a little session at the Bellagio poker room. One hour played, doubled up with Aces against a maniac and cashed out $240 profit in the end.

Time for another burger! I went to Harrah’s to check out KGB, and it was surprisingly good! Maybe the best burger in this price range…

In the evening, I decided to give the bartops at Bugsy’s Bar a try and got completely destroyed. 3 hours without a single quad can be expensive… At least, the drinks kept coming!

Great stuff so far! Sorry to hear that Bugsy's seem to make up for the two quads you showed while just earning 1 Tier Point each time. :( I need to learn how to hit quads that quickly.

Also I am curious as to why you seem to play Double Bonus a lot instead of DDB like most other people on here.

Thank you all! Just writing the next update...

Yes, it seems that I ran better in the morning when I hit quads within a couple of minutes after starting the session. Unfortunately, I gave back the winnings during the day and the night.

I switched between Bonus/Double Bonus/DDB, but almost all the good hands came on DB.
