I'm thinking of taking a cab from Mandalay Bay to Polo Towers. It would make it easier when hauling luggage. Also, what do you think the cost would be?
    Thanks

I've taken a cab from MGM to Excalibur with the GF before (she didn't want to walk as her shoes were broken and hurting her feet). The cabbies don't care where they go as long as they get a few bucks as a tip.

Shortest ride was Tropicana to Monte Carlo, cost about $6. Cabbie whined the whole way there about how he waited at Tropicana for an hour just for a short ride.

One time I took a cab from Mandalay Bay to MGM. The driver complained to me and I said I'd make it worth his time. Well the whole drive over there his complaining got worse and worse. I don't think he took a breath.

When we got there I tipped him $1 because I was so fed up with this guy.

He yelled at me and I got out of the cab. Well, so did he. He followed me all of the way into MGM yelling at me the whole time.

I never turned around. He stopped yelling as I neared the casino.

I should have turned around but didn't want to get into an argument with him.

    That sucked!

That sucks. That cab driver shouldnt of complained. Without good service I dont think he deserved a tip if he was being a ****** the whole time.

    Short cab ride

From the Venetian entry to the Mall valet. Too tired to walk it and one party member has bad breathing issues. Also $6.00.

From Ellis Island to Ballys. I know, I know, but we were just too drunk to walk.

I told the cabbie I'd double his fare and I did.

Rio to Palms. Was going to give him $5-$10 for "wasting his time" but he cried the entire time.

From Mirage to Aria...and it still cost as much as a trip from the airport. The cabbie was pissed he had to take us such a short distance. WHen he saw our luggage he didn't know we were just changing hotels. He sat at a red light to turn right when there was ample chances for him to turn. Ran the fare up just sitting there before pulling into the Aria drive.

Back in November 2008, I took a cab from TI to Mirage because it was raining pretty hard. I can't remember what the fare was, but I know I gave the guy $10.

Okay, TI to Mirage wins. You know they have a tram between the two hotels, right? That would probably have been faster than the taxi and saved you $10. :)

I once took a cab ride that should have been short, but took FOREVER. Monte Carlo to Cosmopolitan. Again, could have used the tram, but I get too lost in that City Center complex I always end up walking too far. I was carrying a couple huge booze bottles, so didn't want to walk. I thought it would be easy, but I basically got a tour of all the backroads of Vegas before finally arriving at Cosmo. I had planned on $10, including tip, but it was closer to $15 with like $1 tip, I think.

I remember looking up and seeing we were on the other side of I-15 and saying, "Where are you taking me? You heard me say Cosmo, right?" He muttered something about having to go this way whatever reason. Whatever, my bottles and I arrived safely. :)

Mine was on my last trip in Oct. Ballys to Mirage. My COPD was flaring up and no grumbling from the driver (he could tell I was winded) so I tipped him $5.

Mirage to Caesars. Changing hotels and didn't want to drag my bag through Caesars. I apologized to the cab driver in advance and gave a nice tip for his troubles.

Not me personally but while waiting in the cab line to head back to the airport, some guy stood in line for a good 10-15 minutes to take a cab from Monte Carlo to NYNY. He could have literally walked there faster. Looked like he was a conventioner so maybe he didn't understand how close the 2 are...

The whole time he sat at tropicana he wasn't making a penny so i don't get why they complain so much.

Heck where i come from there is no such thing as tipping cabbies. They make 40% of the fare if they do not own the cab and 50% if they do with being able to write off gas as well. I haven't had one complain about the $5 fare yet, those are common.

Just last month, me and the missus had to cab it from Mandalay Bay to Tropicana. Resaon? We were doing a strip crawl and by the time we made it down to Mandalay Bay we were both smashed and the walk to the trop to start up the other side of the strip would have taken too long, lol!

PS: Heading north, we only made it as far as the MGM, had a drink or two there, dropped $60 in the Lions Share and grabbed another cab to PH to have feed at Burgr before we called it a night!

    Awesome night!

I do, but at the time I didn't know. It was my first trip and I think probably my 3rd day there so I hadn't explored a lot of the casinos yet.

I reckon I have this one... first time in Vegas and staying at Hooter's back in 2009. We wanted to go to MGM Grand. We ordered a taxi. It was literally a U turn. We thought the entrance was on the strip. It was embarrassing, when they finally found a taxi to take us. I'll never forget that.
