So I was letting it rip a little playing 100 hand bonus poker at Venetian at the .10 level. Got dealt 4 to the royal in diamonds. GOT ZERO royals! Not one out of all 100 hands got the 5th card. Ugh. Then at Caesars I was playing 25 hand at the $1 level and got dealt 4 to it again. Same result, none came in. Soooo painful, especially the one at Caesars since one more card would have been a nice $100,000!

Wow - with 125 redraws, you had about a 94% chance of getting at least one royal.

    Bad Beat.

The 25-play is so-so...but the HUNDRED play! Wow...painful, not even ONE.

I've seen it on hundred play at the penny level. 4 to the royal and no dice! However, I've also managed to pull 10 hands of 4OAK Aces with kicker on penny DDB after holding just 2 aces on hundred play. That was some good luck, but you never really know.

Are you sure it was just a pair of Aces? (Numbers below assume you didn't throw away kickers since I don't feel like being super exact)

I often get skeptical when people say they have seen a 1 in 1,245,520,927,807,380,000 event, which is about 1 in 1.25 quintillion. Getting back to back dealt royals is much easier than this (1/649740)^2 = 1 in 422,162,067,600 or about 1 in 422 billion.

Holding 3 Aces and getting 10 AWAK is a much more likely 1 in 5,046,850.

What about holding a pair of aces and scoring Quads on 3/5 (two with kickers)?

That particular calculation is a bigger pain. To turn any pair into 3 or more quads out of 5 is about 1 in 4.7 million. To turn Aces into three or more AWAK is 1 in 247 million. To get two out of three? Meh, I dunno, 1 in 25 million or so? lol

And then after digging via the internet for 15 minutes, I found the proper formula to do the math.

1 in 26,759,628 to turn a pair of Aces into 3 quads (with at least 2 AWAK) or more. Damn, I'm a pretty good estimator.

in hindsight, I think it was 3 aces. I recall being dumbfounded that each made quad had the kicker
