Heading to Vegas in August with some friends to celebrate a 21st birthday. We are planning to use Myvegas to book a room so we have as much money as possible to drink and gamble.

We have narrowed it down to Luxor and Monte Carlo. Which one of the two would be better for a bunch of 21 year olds?

    I'd say Monte Carlo.

Luxor can be a hike from the centre strip depending on your drinking achievements.

In saying that make sure you go to Tacos & Tequilas to grab a "Chonga"

Luxor was my first hotel in Vegas. Loved ancient Egypt history so though why not stay there. Well, unless you wanna walk a mile to eat breakfast, pick Monte Carlo. Don't get me wrong, you'll be walking wherever you stay. It's just a little shorter than staying at Luxor.

As others have said, you're closer to the "action" (further up the strip) with Monte Carlo.

Also, with myVegas, I have been lucky enough to have the resort fees waived by MC (even though they aren't technically supposed to). From what I hear (I've never tried to stay there via myVegas), Luxor rarely waives the fees (if ever). But if the resort fees get waived at MC and not at Luxor, then MC becomes a much better value.

The location of the Monte Carlo and also how the tram links it to the Aria and Bellagio and for the cost/quality of rooms I find it to be a great deal. We will will be staying there in May.

Monte Carlo also has decent table game limits and their gaming floor, while not as overwhelming as the MGM, is plenty big enough to find a different array of slots/table games.

MyVegas is a facebook game where you play slots (for free) and earn comps such as Buffets and discounted room rates and buy one get one free type of stuff.

    Check it out.

I'd say MC is a bit better than Luxor. Luxor pool is pretty sucky if that matters. MC location is preferable (to me anyway).

The vibe is probably better for a 21st birthday @ the luxor but MC is definitely in a better position if you're going to be walking to other parts of the strip. I've never stayed at the MC though so may be wrong about the vibe but I've visited there a few times and it always seems quiet.

are both those places available? i had my heart set on NYNY but only MB and MC were available at the time.

MC has the location you would want. Once you decide book it because the book fast. Once booked can not be refunded though.

Never stayed at MC but last time I stayed at Luxor I was super disappointed with nearly everything... Hotel room was a dump, CW service was poor, dealers were rude, pitboss was room, slots seemed tight.

I also agree with the location argument

Have stayed at both and Monte Carlo would be my choice.

21st birhday so odds are you will want to do pool parties, drinks, etc. Strip location over where Luxor is.

Pool at Monte Carlo is very good for a low key day to recover and such also.

Another vote for Monte Carlo. The only benefit Luxor has is that it is closer to Manadalay Bay. Excalibur and NYNY are both casinos that tend to go younger and Monte Carlo is just as close as Luxor. You are also closer to Cosmo and PH which can be 2 great places in the evening.

I'd choose MC based on the location to the action on the Strip.

Monte Carlo for sure. Stayed there early September last year and had a blast. Pool is fun, there are better, but we cruised the lazy river for hours.

Eat at the Dragon Noodle Co. The place is good eatin!

When we stayed at the Luxor it definitely had a " party" vibe. Lots of younger people. The whole Egyptian theme is pretty cool as well.

I'm 100% behind Luxor. MC to me, is the worst of the MGM properties in Las Vegas, although I've never seen the rooms.

Luxor will have attractive women or men, people of all genders and sexual orientation are happy.

The casino is fun, there are good games to be had. I know they have a club, but I've never been to it. The bars around the casino are fun, although if you're not playing, drinks are expensive, just as they are at any Vegas bar.

There's a nice vibe at Luxor, and you can easily walk to Excalibur or Mandalay.

Of the two, I say MC. Luxor's casino is pretty depressing to me. Their ceilings are low...the walls and ceiling in the casino are plain and white, which makes me feel like I am at a high school casino night in the school cafeteria. At least at MC, you will be very close the jaw-dropping beautiful people at Cosmo!

For the best value, go for Monte Carlo. You are connected from the inside to Aria! You have a free tram ride to Bellagio! You are more easily walkable to everything. You get some atmosphere of luxury. There is a food court with subway and mcds etc. Cosmopolitan is next door! nyny is your other neighbor. The pool has a lazy river, a wave pool, hot tub, regular pool and volleyball court.
