I know places downtown and on the strip allow you to walk with your drinks but what about the hotel. Will they let you walk around with a can of beer? I do not drink beer and mine will be concealed to look like coffee (which i do not drink either lol) but my husband will have beer.

If they let you walk around with a can in hand is that throughout the hotel or just in certain areas?

If I am not mistaken, you can basically walk around everywhere with your drink in hand. Come to think of it, I have been breaking all sorts of rules if this is not the case!!

Totally fine anywhere in the hotel. No need to even conceal it, especially given that plenty of bars on-property will give you a cocktail to go. Only exception might be the pool area, where I think they don't permit glass; also, you obviously can't bring in outside drinks into restaurants (i.e., you can't bring your own six-pack in to Aureole). Other than that, you can drink and wander as you please.

Some shops might ask that you don’t bring a drink in. But walking around the common areas of a hotel (in any city, really, not just Vegas) with a drink in hand will not be an issue at all.

I think it is okay if you walk around with drinks (in glasses) that were purchased at the hotel. I am not sure if you will or won't have problems bringing your own cans.

OP, I like your husband's mindset heading into this trip. You have PSM approval to wander casino with beer in hand.

    LOL

He drinks both beer & hard stuff but we were talking last night about how different beer affects him and how it may be the better option in vegas. Much easier too, crack top and BOOM! I hate that i can not drink it. I have stomach issues and my stomach doesn't like it so it is solely whiskey for me and this one kind of cooler i can handle if i mix it with 7 up.

The reason mine is concealed is that is the cup i found with a lid that is decent size if i can get vonn's to deliver without a cell phone (or room # till we get there).

My husband is going to love that he can have a beer almost anywhere. We do not drink tons at home but in the summer he has a drink more often because we can be outside and we are on vacation so..... responsibilities (within reason ha ha) are out the window.

Where don't they allow you to have an open container on the strip or hotel? A few restaurants here and there....I have a beer in hand from sun up to sun down everytime I go.

I have never once had a problem with open drinks anywhere in Vegas.

I'm the same way: I drink occasionally at home (weekends and not excessively) but once I get to Vegas, all bets are off - starting with the flight out. Then again, I'm lucky to be someone who rarely gets hangovers regardless of how much I drink as long as I have a few glasses of water throughout the night/morning.

Enjoy your trip! Wish I had one planned for this year!

Why do you need to conceal your drink in a coffee cup? :poke:

I don't, thought i explained it already. That is what vonn's has. I have mixed drinks and i want one with a lid. The best disposable i found so far with any sort of decent size seems to be a 16oz coffee cup. I had a thread before to see if anyone knew of good disposables with lids but alas not much. I like lids on my drinks if i am walking.

I don't get hangovers either, just extremely tired because i got to bed at like 6 or so lol. I then feel lazy. I never pass out either, i think i have only been drunk enough to be even close to that point once in the last 5 years. I can handle it pretty well.

Of course you can bring it anywhere... now I may not bring my beer shopping because that would be tacky haha. But other than that, yea casinos or outside it's totally fine. If you bring it to a show they might just switch cups.

It's Vegas. You can walk around wearing one of those helmets that hold multiple drinks. Your husband can put beer in one cup holder and liquor in the other.

LOL that would certainly make him sick & that is what we are trying to avoid. Mixing is never good at the end of the day.

I had no problem whatsoever carrying root beer on the Strip. I even walked past the Cops between Bally's and Paris, and when i nodded my head they acknowledged my presence.
Didn't matter if my root beer was in a paper bag or in an open container.........as long as my root beer didn't cause a disturbance, all was good.

Hell, back in my college days I went Cousin Eddy style with a six pack attached to my belt. You can pretty much drink anywhere you want as long as you're not being a jackass. Now, if for some weird reason you stray away from the strip or Fremont area, it is technically illegal to drink in public (but why would you go there?) Strip and Fremont Areas get the green light and I confirmed it with the Metro Cops.
