In my opinion, the WAX from the airport to Excalibur is best. The WAX will drop you off across the street at New York New York.

If you are staying at the Excalibur, the WAX is your best bet for going downtown. It will be almost empty, cost you 2.00 for a full fare (1.00 for seniors) and get you downtown in about 25 mnutes or less and bring you to the same drop off as the Deuce which is $6.00 for a 2 hour pass. They unload by Walgreens on Carson and 4th street. During the day, you can take the WAX back but the pick up locations are different, and while the DEUCE runs 10-20 minutes apart the WAX runs generally every hour except peak hours. You would get off in front of the Tropicana on Tropicana East and have to walk back and cross to the Excalibur.
Deuce southbound loads on LV Blvd at the corner of Fremont and V Blvd. The WAX boards on Casino Way Dr. between Binions and the Fremont. For the Wax, it would be best to go to the RTC website and printout a copy of the WAX schedule cause you cannot trust the schedules posted at the bus stops......I usually buy a current book from RTC and keep the pocket guide but didn't have one this trip ad missed the WAX and a 25 minute ride home from NYNY last night not once but TWICE! I had no other option then but to take the Deuce which took almost an hour but can be double that or worse at times. There is an express bus downtown the SDX but it has limited stops and I am not familiar with the route.

Having gotten back from 8 days in Vegas on Thursday, and riding the WAX several times, I can say with certainty that the posted schedules are the new ones that go into effect tomorrow! Depending on time, they're very different than what's currently in effect.

Hopefully I am going to use the WaX on the 9th from the airport to Excalibur.
My plane may arrive too late for WAX.

If the WAX is running, it is your best choice. If not, you could catch the 109 south to the SSTT and catch the SDX to the MGM corner. But the WAX should be your first choice.

You are Probably right Turtlman, I am in LV now and picked up a pocket guikd and transit map Eff. 3-2-14. It contains frequency and maps but not the actual times. I was going to purchase the big book like I usually do each year but they reprint them inSept I think so I would be getting outdated times so I may just wait.

Yikes! Good to know. I'll have to hop on their website to get the new schedule. We love the WAX! We are staying downtown this trip. Ya can't beat a $2 fare from the airport to downtown!

    Keno,
The book costs a dollar now. They used to be free and were on the buses back when I first started coming to LV. Now I have only seen them at the BTC. They include a pocket guide with the different routes. I believe they are updated in Sept and I generally attend a trade show in Feb. I buy a book and then it is updated just before I return so I always have outdated info...actually it doesn't change too much and any major changes are usually mentioned here bu Dewey, Turtleman and others. I believe all the information in the book is available online but it is much easier to use the book (for me anyway) planning and then you can check times and stuff online. Sometimes the pocket guides are on the buses and available free.
