YO!! ( LOL!!).. from south/ mid central CT myself and in the same age group. I stayed at the Rio albeit over 10 yrs ago. It was a GREAT place before it became " Harrahized". But even still I think even still its a GOOD property. I am assuming you have your dining option chosen. TRUST ME HERE if ya gamble go the GC or Palms.

Now to the watering holes. I am pretty easy to please.( aren't too many bars I DONT like). A good drink a couple of TV's that has the game on and I am good to go....so unless nightclubs are your thing ( which they aren't for me and it doesn't sound like that's what ya are looking for) I can find enjoyment at just about any of the bars at any of the Rio or GC or Palms. MOST people on vacation or in conferences are easyto chat up for a bit. That said I might consider the GC, at their main bar near the casino. Their crowd is a bit more local than touristi and might be closer to your age group than the Rio.

Do you have wheels??. I LOVED the bar area at the Orleans

    Hi JR and JB,

Central CT here to. Thank you for the info. JR you are correct, not looking for a night club environment. Like you a good bar or pub with the game on and some nice people to hang with works. I won't have a car but cabbing won't be a problem. So far I have plans at the steakhouse in the Rio. Thanks again!!
