So has Downtown Grand been open long enough for anyone to get an idea of how they are with comps yet, especially regarding discounted/free rooms? Will spending an evening (4 hours or so) playing blackjack be enough to get offers, like at Golden Gate and the D? Or could I spend an entire week there losing money and only end up with a 5% discount like at the Golden Nugget? Somewhere in between, or do we not have enough collective experience to get a good idea?

OK, that's a bit of exageration about the Golden Nugget...but not by much! :evillaugh

I'd like to know as well. My brother and I played there for a few hours in November and I'm somewhat surprised that I don't even get emails from them. Its been 2+ months I would have thought I would have received a mailer or two by now.

I played $5 blackjack there for two hours on a weeknight in mid-December. Friendly dealer, good drink service, and I finished up $15.

A couple of weeks ago, I (and many others) got a mailer with an offer for two comped nights. I don't remember what the time frame was, or what the blackout dates were.

Well damn, I played baccarat for over an hour at $130 a hand (I asked what he rated me) and Pai Gow for a good 2 hours at $80 a hand....I had a 7 card straight 6 diamonds and 1 spade...soooo close! My brother played less then $1,000 thru on some $5 slot on my card as well. I guess I should call and make sure they have my correct info.

I thought they hand out room comp to anyone who has their plagyer card. I signed up their player card and played their $3 free play for 1 min, since then I got offer for two free nights,$10 food credit and $10 free play each month.

I've never played there or even been since long before it opened, but I've gotten a few fliers for free nights, no idea how they got my info unless other casinos shared.

    DTG

I played maybe $200 on the slots, (not coin in, just $ lost) back last November and got a mailer for 2 free nights, $25 in free play, $10 in food credit and a deck of cards. All of these I just used up on Tuesday and Wednesday. I gave the room to my nephew and took the rest. All 9 of us hung out at the DTG for about 5 hours on Tuesday night. It happened to be a 5X point day, I gained about 10,000 points. When waiting for my car at valet, I counted up and realized I was leaving with the same amount of money I walked in there with, 5 hours before. The drink service was great. We had a great time!

Played there the first night of the soft opening. It was a Sunday night and watched a Vikings/Packers game at the bar and later played some triple play VP. Put around 5K through the machines and haven't received anything - a host did give me a $50 comp to Stewart & Ogden's though.

I've walked in a few times since and looked at the horrible VP, shake my head, and walk out.
