If I ask not to be rated at the high limit tables will they comply? They will need my ID or club card for the marker or large amount of cash but will they be ok with not rating my play and keeping track of my wins and losses?

    Thanks.

Even if they're not rating you, they'd still keep track of how you did based on how many chips you walk away from the table with.

Short answer is that I do not know. They will want your ID or SSN to let you play at a high level. Just curious, why would you not want to be rated?

Sometimes I do not want to be rated when I am not seeking comps and I just want to be left alone and do not want the trips recorded. I know they will need my ID for the marker or for cash. I do not mind that. I just do not want to be inputted into the system to record a trip and record a win or loss.

If you buy in for cash (less than $10,000), they won't (can't) force you to show an ID or give up a SSN. Just tell them you don't have a player's card and don't want one.

If you need to do it with a marker, they already know who you are, so that ship has sailed.

Again to clarify - I do not mind that they know who I am. I know they will know this. I do not mind showing my ID, I know this is the law. I just do not want to be rated on my players club (mlife, grazie, wynn red, etc). After the trip I would like to see no record of my play in my player club account and at the end of the year see no record of it on my win/loss statement.

I know I can be dense at times, but I'm not following the logic here. What are the negatives you are concerned about?

Its doubtful that anyone can tell you for sure because most high-limit players probably always get rated. But you can easily find out, just ask them not to rate you and then check your account sometime afterwards to see if any play was recorded.

If you ask them not to rate you and they say ok, I doubt they would be lying about it. They know you would find out and if you're a high limit player they wouldn't want to piss you off for no reason. At the same time in terms of being left alone if you're talking about your host that could be a different story. The pit boss might call your host or they may just be notified when you pull your marker.

I thought about that issue and I would prefer my host not knowing I was there but if they must know than so be it. I would still like to have no record of my play on my players club. I will ask the pit boss not to bother my host if I think he is going to call them but I can not do anything about the marker if that notifies the host.

Thanks and I will check my account after playing so at least I will now while I am there if they are lying to me. I think the casinos should let anyone play freely since they will still make money but they are too concerned with keeping track of all your play.

Just a thought - you could try playing at a casino with which you have no rating history. When they ask you if you'd like to be rated, politely decline.

Why wouldn't you want your host to know? Or not want to generate comps (its not like you to use them even if you generate them)? FYI, I'm not attacking you, Dweller. I am just truly perplexed by why you're concerned about being rated and your host knowing about it

I have a history at all the main places on the strip with the exception of TI. I only played there when they were part of MGM. I am thinking of going to M Resort as well and I do not have a player card there. But I do not know if they are good for high limit gambling and if they hover over you too much.

I understand it is confusing and I enjoy your reports and know you have a high level of play so your experience is very helpful. I would prefer not to post the reasons for why I am asking about this. I would just like to be able to gamble without having any record of it kept on the player club systems. I can promise you I am not doing it for any illegal reasons just personal ones.

    Thanks.

Obviously, it depends on what your game is, but it sure seems like most places - even downtown & off-strip - have playable "high-limit" blackjack.

As for hovering or "pit-panic", I suppose that depends on your average bet-per-hand & where... You bet $500/hand at the Golden Gate's "high-limit salon", they're going to quickly take notice & watch you very closely.
Try it at M, and they probably wouldn't.
If you're talking about $1000+ per hand, you're going to be noticed anywhere...no way around that. But finding decent high-limit BJ rules at places where you're not in their system? With blackjack anyway, I don't think you'll have any difficulty.

Take an abandoned player's card from a slot machibe and play as someone else. They get all your play and you get to play under the radar...win-win.

Unfortunately your markers are linked to your players card account.

You can ask not to get rated, but your cash in/out will still be recorded.

Also, pulling a marker triggers a "trip", so if you choose not to get rated, you'll come up in the system as a "no play" and your future comps will surely be effected.

The best way to play anonymous is to just bring cash. If you pull a marker and lose you're going to have to pay it back anyways right? So just bring cash and avoid the whole fiasco entirely.

That's cool. I am just curious by nature and couldn't (and still can't) figure this one out.

As for the post above that mentioned ADT as a possible reason, when you play at a high enough limit, that doesn't really matter. Back in January, I did a quick hit and run at Cosmo (was staying at Aria) and left with over $20k after about 15 minutes of play. When I was at Cosmo this past weekend, my host mentioned that she saw I had popped in back in January. And my comps were not affected at all for this trip. At the high limit level, the hosts know that one low ADT trip can be an aberration, as long as you have some play history at the property (which I do at Cosmo)
