Today I get an email for Aria for a not so good offer. I am not their normal customer base but they send me random things as I have stayed there for free two times.

I have no idea why they send me one offer on the 13th of Jan and then another today that are different but overlapping. The offer today is worse in my opinion than the previous offer and has a very specific time period. The previous offer is also providing me with free rooms during the week and the new offer is providing me with 80 dollar a night rooms but 125 dollars more in resort credit. I don't get their marketing. Also they should know as I have stayed at Bellagio multiple times that I am never paying for their room so they should stop sending me requests to stay there and pay them money. Go home MLIFE marketing people.

I believe the first offer is the corporate winter offer and the 2nd offer would be one directly from Aria marketing. Do you play a MLife a fair amount but maybe not at Aria?

I wouldn't get so worked up. The offers are different and they are probably hoping one of them will catch your eye. I still get corporate and marketing department offers I will never use (hmmmmm, discount rooms at Excalibur, let me call my host at Bellagio and then get back to you  ) even though I haven't booked a room at an MGM property through anybody other than a host in over three years now. Just delete the emails.

Thats just Mlife playing games. I recently went to book a NY NY offer that was for $150 in Freeplay plus the comped room. They told me to book that offer I'd have to pay the resort fees per night. So $60.00 or so for 3 days. I told them to piss off. If Aria and Bellgio dont charge me resort fees on a comp I aint paying them. She said I had another offer of $100 in freeplay and $25 in resort credits and THAT offer didnt have a resort fee attached to it.

So they are sneaky if you dont catch them.

Hey guys, I figured this would be a good thread to post this, didn't want to start a new one. Anyway, I went to Las Vegas for the first time ever last August with my girlfriend, absolutely loved it. We're going to go again next August and I have some questions for you.

Okay... First of all, I can't remember how much I played last time but I managed to reach the Pearl level and if my memory serves me right, my points were half way from reaching Gold, might be less though. We are from Finland and the flight times are +20 hours one way and the airfare is +$1000 per person for a round trip. That's why we stayed for 14 nights and will plan on doing the exact same next time, and this was at The Mirage where I did most of my playing.

I recently noticed that I have the following offers at mlife.com:

    YOUR M LIFE WINTER OFFER!
THE MIRAGE • LAS VEGAS, NV
    $150 in FREEPLAY®
Complimentary Deluxe Room for 2 nights and a special rate from $32 for any additional nights
    $75 M life Resort Credit

    +

    YOUR LUXURY M LIFE OFFER!
THE MIRAGE • LAS VEGAS, NV
3 Complimentary nights in a Deluxe Room
    $50 M life Resort Credit
Must book by March 31, 2014
Call your Casino Executive or VIP Services at 800.937.4444 to book your offer and please mention Offer Code

    +

    YOUR FEBRUARY MIRAGE OFFER!
THE MIRAGE • LAS VEGAS, NV
2 Complimentary nights in a Deluxe Room
    Additional nights from $52
Upgrade to a suite for starting from $75 Sunday-Thursday only
    Must book by 2/28/14

    +

    Discounted room rates.

The thing is, as mentioned above, the airfare and long stay requires a lot of planning. I'll most likely book our flights next month and then start organizing the stay at The Mirage. Problem is that all of the offers above expire or are only valid through July, might get new offers that cover August as well later, of course.

How would you recommend I proceed? 14 days is a lot and if the offers were valid for August, I could book several offers because there's the 72 hour gap between my "stays". Also, last year we arrived 19th of August, this year we will most likely arrive 18th of August. Will I lose all my progress I've made with Mlife? Back to Sapphire? Will it affect the possible comps I get? I also understand that Vegas hotels aren't really looking for people staying for such a long period of time. (bankroll management for long trip vs. weekend splash etc). Is our longer stay going to be some sort of deal breaker for my future host?

I would very much appreciate all the help I can get since I'm very new to this all. Thanks in advance!

PS. First trip to Vegas got me a jackpot, $1.40 spin landed me on $6900, went home with more than the entire holiday cost. :)

I think I should stop trying to figure out these casinos. I really find casino marketing fascinating.

The only reason a casino makes an offer is in hopes that you will drop enough dollars there to make it worth their time, and money.

Pretty simple stuff. Sometimes they will risk a bit more than others, but it is always for a reason.

A $100 a day player gets slim pickings. A million dollar a day player gets great offers. The rest of us fall somewhere in between.

I get the only reason they make an offer is to get more of your play. The goal is to entice you to play at their property and thefore make money off of you. If MLIFE made any sense they would direct offers at me that were not insulting and somewhat consistent from the same property. I was giving them decent play for a long time and got no offers. I then called and had a discussion with some marketing people and for the last 3 years I get offers. I just think the lack of consistency is the weird thing

Yeah, one of the frustrating thing about mLife from a player's perspective is that they seem to change their internal policies all the time. I'm pretty sure that host-specific offers were nearly eliminated a year or two ago, at about the same time that they were pushing players to use their Express Comps instead.

Now, the hosts seem to be back in the up-front comp game, as I've started hearing again from some hosts who didn't contact me at all for a while. (But those hosts only care about my potential play at their property, not at mLife as a whole.)

But this could all change again next week, for all we know ...

I wish my writing skills didn't suck so bad. I am much better communicator in person than via the web.

Quoting this because the post got stuck for review for nearly a day and didn't ever appear on the newest page. :)
