Interesting...what plays do you like? I'll be in Vegas in about 2 weeks and plan on playing a few of these.

I like the under on the Reds, Cubs, Royals, and Dodgers.

I like the over on the Diamondbacks, Astros (a reach, I know), and Braves.

    St. Louis OVER

I love a team that does not rely on pitching to win games. At the same time, they have a lot of pitching.

Interest rates are at an all time low. Putting money in a bank for eight months gives about .6%.

Assuming someone is a good handicapper and would win @ a 55% win rate, I don't think it is a bad wager.

    Winner!

Painful to admit, but big Astros fan. 57.5 is really low. New owner has been banking his money over the last couple of years. He's predicting a .500 season, which won't happen, but I really believe they'll do whatever it takes to avoid losing 100 games again.

The stigma of a great organization losing over 100 three years in-a-row has been painful to endure. The ownership won't let it happen again.

I'd take anything over 62 wins for the 'Stros and if I could get odds on over 65, i'd take it.

Odd. The other day I read that the Yankees were 5/1 to win the AL and the Red Sox were 6/1. Yet this is showing that the over/under has the Sox beating the Yankees by 4 games.

Yankees seem very short to me...84-78 is easily attainable for them. They were pretty awful and killed with injuries and they won 85 last year. I hate the Yankers but they always find a way to hang in there. Even without Rivera and Cano I think they will win 84 no problem.

I have a strategy that worked well last year and will be following again this year.

I compare the numbers of the Atlantis Casino in Reno with the win totals available here in Vegas (LVH, CG Technology (formally Cantor Gaming), Stations, MGM, Caesar's, etc). I look for 2 game or more differentials (either over or under). I bet the best number I can find on the side of the Atlantis number. The guy who sets the numbers at Atlantis seems to be on the right side.

Here are this years plays with the best differential (be sure the check the actual numbers before betting as they will change):

    Houston Astros
    Atlantis: 57.5 LVH: 63.5 CG: 62.0
    Bet: UNDER 63.5 at LVH

    Kansas City Royals:
    Atlantis: 85.5 LVH: 79.5 CG: 81
    Bet: OVER 79.5 at LVH

    Minnesota Twins:
    Atlantis: 65.5 LVH: 71.5 CG: 69.5
    Bet: UNDER 71.5 at LVH

If you would like the complete list of teams and totals from Atlantis, LVH and CG let me know. I have them on a spreadsheet.

    Cheers
