Are we assuming this is on the strip?

I always thought it could be cool if someone were to build a new casino that was a bit smaller, with the theme of a throwback to the the late 50's/early 60's vegas "golden age". Keep it vintage, from to the uniforms of the employees, colors/furniture, and music. Keep it oriented towards the main attraction: GAMBLING, with great odds and payouts. skip the retail plaza, skip the mega club and only have maybe 3 restaurants in it: A buffet, Steakhouse, 24hr coffee shop...plus a kickass lounge. Focus on customer service and cleanliness, by paying employees a bit better.

.....And then I would put a GIANT roller coaster out front:rolleyes2:

oh crap, after reading this, i pretty much described a clean version of a downtown casino. . . ah well.

I would buy Excalibur, paint it all black, and call it "The S&M Resort and Casino". :wink2:

The dealers will all be dressed in black latex and carry whips.

I'd buy the Palazzo/Venetian complex (including the expo hall across the street), so I could throw Sheldon outta Las Vegas! I get rid of the famous Venetian smell on day one. For sure I'd charge a resort-fee to keep out all the cheapskates (excuse me... value conscious). Most everything else though, I might leave the same... except for their players program, we'd liberalize that up some and I'd bring the valet guys from the Hard Rock over as they're the best in town. I'd also get some DJ's out at the pool areas and hire Paris Hilton to host our Grand Opening!!!

Oh yeah, I'd send my Hard Rock host an e-mail to let her know of my new acquisition, but since she never checks her e-mail, she'd never know!

    Name: Sinter Strip
    Location: Center Strip of course
Theme: Strip front casino with walk out the door access to the strip, and plenty of open sections for people walking by to step in. Think the old Osheas, or Casino Royal in how close it is to the side walk and ease of getting in and out. As far as the decor goes, clean and a lot of lights, but darker/warmer colors so it doesn't feel too bright.

When you enter I want there to be several bars in sight with bar top video poker. It will be posted what the betting level is expected for comped drinks. For those purchasing drinks the beer would be priced fairly as well as the liquor. Cheaper than most strip properties, and a bit more than downtown/off strip properties. There will be a good section of table games at the front as well a few banks of the community slot games. The table games here are going to be the low level limits. $5 tables will be the lowest we go, but we would run $5 tables 24/7. As you go deeper into the casino the slots/video poker/table games open up into large varieties, and again one of the best paytables on the strip, but probably lower than you can find on off strip or downtown properties. There would be a very nice escalator up to the high limit areas where it is done much more lavishly and the customer service up there would be second to none.

I will edit and add more later. But this is fun.

Call the table game area The Red fanny and sell shirts saying "I was a Bad Boy or Girl at The Red fanny".

I think I would buy Hooters. I would gut it and make it into a boutique hotel with a spa and target women. A property that size needs a hook like that. I would offer internet and coffee in room included in the room cost. I would have men and women as CWs. I would hire the design firm Boyd uses as I like the room concepts I've seen from them. Emphasis on the bathroom with probably a big standalone shower. Restaurants would feature a steakhouse with old school service and a coffee shop specializing in lighter menu options. For entertainment, a show like Matt Goss or Taylor Hicks that wouldn't be too expensive but that would have enough of a fan base to draw people over.

I'd buy Luxor, I think there is a lot of untapped value in there.

Also, I used to play this computer simulation game called Casino Empire. One of the casinos you could build and manage was based off Luxor and it was always my most successful!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the casino in 'Midnight Run', home for the main bad-guy Jimmy Serrano (RIP Dennis Farina), was the Desert Inn. I know the exterior shots are from there, but I think the interior shots from one of the pits is also the DI.
Sadly, I never stayed there...played blackjack there several times, and always thought it was a great place.

PS - Midnight Run is still one of my favorite movies. DeNiro & Grodin are perfect together.

    Name: Mojave
    Location: Harrahs
    Theme: Vintage Southwest decor

Restaurants: I'd take Harrahs existing upstairs Ruths Chris and convert it into 2 smaller restaurants (so both could enjoy the Strip view) One would be the traditional steak/seafood and the other would be authentic Southwest Tex/Mex fare. A little more upscale than most, but not over the top in pricing. Of course a buffet and 24 hour coffee shop with nightly graveyard specials.

CW's attire: Here's where I would have some fun. Naturally hot and leggy gals (no men servers). Each wearing the skimpiest bikini type of fringed buckskin the law would allow, along with an Indian beaded headband with a single feather sticking up in back. Most CW's hate heels so to accomodate and keeping with the theme they would wear buckskin moccasins, BUT none of those shiny support hose. Bare legs.

Gambling: Pretty simple. Keep Harrahs existing Sportsbook. Go to good table rules with a couple of tables at a $5 minimum. Full pay VP across the board and advertise the hell out of it.

Music: A broad range from the 50's through the 80's but no rap.

I'd LOVE to have a Star Wars themed casino, complete with Mos Eisley cantina.

There'd be betting on pod races. Hotel rooms would form part of the Rebel base. There's be a Death Star bar. Have staff dressed in costumes fro the films. Dealers would say 'May the Force be with you'

I would do adult only all inclusive(less gambling), Would have several packages to accommedate the low and high rollers, I would have both fine dinning, buffets, and quick eats available, I would have 3 pool styles 1 for partying, one for resting a hangover and 1 European style pool where topless is required ;)
For entertainment a traditional vegas rotation between, showgirls, vaudeville acts, magic etc. I would hire still touring classic groups on a rotation like Santanna, Skynard, ZZ top,Eagles,Heart, RHCP etc for decent non-pop music. 9/6 VP on all bartops , decent limits on table games, and the best looking/personable CW/bartenders available, proper dress code requirments by all patrons.Huge sportsbook stadium. Top shelf booze, for a theme not sure just an open bright concept.

Even thought of a signature show....How The West Was Won, but the main feature of the show would be topless showgirls (think Follies Bergere) with large feathered Indian war bonnets as headdresses. Gotta have vintage Vegas and vintage southwest somehow?:rolleyes2:

Signature drinks would be Mojave Mojitos, Geronimo's Gin Fizz and Sitting Bull's Sangrias
