    Hey all,

Got a friend going to Vegas for the first time. I'm trying to help him and his wife stay within their budget by giving suggestions - as they have asked for them.

They are not wanting to spend a lot on food - and because everyone's definition of not a lot is different here's what they are thinking

Breakfast less than $20 for 2 people - I never eat breakfast in Vegas so I have no clue. But they eat breakfast at home and want to in Vegas - cheaper is probably better.

    Lunch $10-$12 per person

    Supper about $40 total.

These prices don't include alcohol drinks as that can really skew numbers.

I know that there are food courts - but don't know where they all are or what they offer.

I have suggested Chipolte, food court by Harrah's with Panda Express, Peppermill, Denny's.

    Sorry.

They are staying at The Flamingo but aren't opposed to walking the strip to meet their budget.

They won't have a rental car.

There is a food court right inside Flamingo. It has Johnny Rockets, pizza, Chinese and a sub/sandwich/hot dog place. They have really great subs there, actually. There is also a coffee bar spot in Flamingo that has breakfast sandwiches, also very good and great lattes.

For breakfast, have them take the shuttle to Rio. Gold Coast next door has a very nice breakfast buffet for around $7.00 Also the bus to downtown is another option. Main Street Station has a very good buffet for about the same price. A big breakfast and a nice dinner is all we ever need. LVA and ACG have many coupons for inexpensive dining.

Watch out for the prices at the Flamingo food court - the prices at Johnny Rockets were surprisingly expensive! Dennys are always great value, although the one opposite the Mirage has closed down.

Two of my favorites, for great food, huge portions and very affordable:

Hash House a Go Go located at the Quad Resort & Casino (MENU)

Cheesecake Factory located in the Forum Shops at Caesars (MENU)

I know, it's a bit annoying, cause the menu doesn't give the prices. But as far as I remember, prices for dinner are - depending on what you have of course - around $20 (sorry if mistaken, please anybody, correct me if wrong?). I'm sure the portion sizes are huge though, enough to share with two persons.

I like Ellis island a lot, which you could do for any three meals well under the budget. The crepes in the walkway between Paris and ballys are awesome imo, and easily a meal. Could also look at groupon, there was one on there for le burger brasserie which I know I've really enjoyed in the past and would make a reasonable lunch or really cheap dinner

Ellis island for breakfast. And there are tons of places in Miracle Mile that do cheap breakfast specials. For that type of budget, it may benefit them to do stuff like a early lunch or dinner buffet and kinda merge two meals into one. They could supplement with snacks from a drugstore.

There's a few good deals on groupon, such as KGB, Toby Keiths I Love this Bar, or Burger Brassierre. These are great options. We've eaten at all of them. With groupon it's like 1/2 price dining. Watch though for days/time restrictions.

If they are interested in a nicer venue, the happy hour at American Fish is excellent and they could do an early dinner of small plates for under $40.

    Super chest eats

Okay the following is a list of super cheap eats if food quality is not a must. This is strictly a low budget approach.

Stage Door behind the old Bills casino- cheap beer hot dogs. Like 2 bucks
Gold Coast - catch the shuttle at Ballys they have very cheap buffets if you get their players card. Like 6 bucks for breakfast
Ballys there is a taco bar with 2 buck tacos and drinks
Rock bar between palazzo and venitian have cheap drinks and dogs on Tuesdays
Casino royal has cheap footlong dogs and pizza
Burger bar at the Rio has regular priced burger king food.

So if you not there for the dinning experience and just want a quick cheap pit stop to fill the stomach these are the places we know about.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the Hash House a Go Go will send you a 2 for 1 dinner email when you sign up for their e-club on Facebook. You can do this for more than one location as well.

In answer to a previous post, yes the Dennys at Casino Royale has closed down now.
