    Talk about bad timing.
Trip coming up in a week and getting a bad sore throat and headache.
Hopefully can kick it out before the trip.
    This crazy weather hasn't helped.
Maybe the rainbow at the end will be a healthy trip and a HUGE jackpot.

Colostrum 3 times a day then Jagermeister shots and nyquil at night, you'll be fine and ready to party by the time your trip is here.

Happened to me to before a trip last year. Take lots of Vit C, Akinesia, and get nice and drunk and you should be good to go.

Two things that are my biggest fears:
1 - Losing all my gambling money on the first day.
2 - being sick in Vegas.

I can at least control 1 with "envelopes", but 2 can be problematic.

Currently sleeping with wool cap and sweatshirt along with taking C and zinc as well as antibiotic just obtained from the doctors. Oh and definitely getting plenty of sleep too.

Vitamin C can help prevent one from getting sick, but once you are sick it doesn't do anything. Taking vitamin C while sick comes from marketing and the standard doctor recommendation to drink plenty of fluids, like orange juice, while sick. But other juices are good too (apple, fruit juices, etc) as well as things like water and Gatorade.

Zinc helps the body absorb vitamins and minerals, but too much zinc (more than 50mg in a day) can actually have the opposite effect prevent the body from absorbing them... plus too much zinc can cause the symptoms of a cold (nausea, diarrhea, headaches, upset stomach, vomiting) and make you think you are still sick when you aren't.

Booze. No mix, no ice, nothing but straight liquor. Stay warm, rest. Liquor kills germs.

Had a cold/runny nose before my last trip to Vegas. Two days in the drier air cleared things right up...or was it the alcohol that killed the virus....either way something worked after being in Vegas two days.

First full day of antibiotics and can feel it all drying up already.
Had plenty of fluids. Was peeing all day today. Wait.....had to pee again....I am back.

Looking forward to see more improvement tomorrow.

It has been a bit cool today. Probably should have tried a bowl of chicken soup.

That is the WORST THING that can happen. Either flying out or being ill on vacation. That has happened to me 3 times on my trips out over the years and IT AINT FUN. Ya save up prepare etc.......to have a great time and then BANG a stomach virus ,or any illness can RUIN a trip.

I have had the stomach bus when I was sick out there all 3 times. I gave up drinking booze in each case but NOT food ( its a sicilan/Italian thing TRUST ME.. If I stop eating ya would need to call a PRIEST!! LOL!!). and drank lots of club soda water and took the OTC remedies and either stayed at the casino I was staying at or very near the toilets. I also made sure I rested MUCH MORESO THANON NORMAL TRIPS where I would RUN REAL HARD!!

I agree with Sco... AIRBORNE. Anytime I feel like I'm getting sick before a trip I take it along with an additional 1,000mg of Vit C daily and it works!

I came down with the creeping crud (cold, flue, who knows?) shortly after arriving in December. How in the heck I could have caught something with all the alcohol in my system remains a mystery, but it ended up being the worst Vegas trip in over 28 years! It's hard to concentrate on your game when you're just trying to keep from falling off your perch.

Hopefully, you'll have enough time to get into tiptop shape before your trip. Best of luck … to all of us!

I was down with man flu the three days before I left for Vegas just over a week ago. Was worried about being ill on a long haul flight and being ill in Vegas. I got over it last Saturday when I landed, glad you did as well.

Don't skip out on aspirin or acetaminophen for the sore throat. It may hurt going down but it will ease the pain. And a hot toddy will lots of honey will soothe you too. And for me, orange juice helps - the pulpy kind. The vitamin C may or may not help but I do feel better when I drink it when sick.

Wild turkey american honey for a sore throat. It makes you feel better and I swear it gets you better quicker.

I've done Vegas sick twice. The first time was bad and it sucked. The second time was better because I took it easy. The second time I visited the doctor before I went and I asked about getting the Z pak. She said they only give you the Z pak just in case you get really sick but the best thing was rest and water. Of course I was sick because I was overworking and the schedule stopped the moment I headed off to the airport.

Get rest, drink water, eat healthy and hopefully you'll be better! Even if you're still a little sick you can drink but make sure you drink water.
