When you splurge, what do you splurge on in Vegas?

We always go to at least one quality restaurant, such as Hugo's Cellar. I'm more of an IHOP kind of guy, so paying 2-300 bucks for a meal is defintely a splurge (but well worth it).

My business reimburses my travel, lodging and per-diem to a reasonable level. Occasionally, I like to get one of the Hard Rock's specialty suites (Tree Bark, Gorilla, Red and Black. etc.) I pay the difference myself of course, but I love them during pool season, cause they have their own private patio with fire-pit, TV, and access directly to the pool... no need for a cabana!

The rooms, which can be seen on the link below, aren't terribly different than the HRH Tower Suites... little larger, hard-wood floors and a second bathroom, but it's the private patio and pool access that make them worth the "splurge" every so often.

Playing a Benjamin through the Lion's Share is my splurge. :evillaugh

You'll never see me betting $3/spin on any other machine in Vegas.

Not really sure we splurge in Vegas more/less than elsewhere. I guess in a sense since it's the only place we gamble that gambling would be that splurge. I just tend not to look at something we want to do, within reasonable financial bounds, to be a splurge. We enjoy food wherever we go, be it some blue plate locals special or more of a high-end experience. We play golf and sightsee and shop most places we go, try to get in some spa time. Actually, now that I reconsider, we certainly spend more elsewhere on some experiences.

I splurge on the Vdara spa because it's awesome. Best spa I've been to.

A "splurge" for us in Vegas is doing something and paying full price. If we can't get a comp, or use a discount coupon, we won't usually do it. The big splurge is the time at the VP machines, which we dearly enjoy.

My Vegas Motto : "Never pay full price for anything".

I pretty much agree with Ken. We spend less on hotels in LV, and usually less on food. The only splurge we do is I gamble and def drink more than we would at home. I guess those two vices are plenty for us.

Spending $500 a day for 4 days on whatever the hell I want is splurging for me, I would never even think about doing that at home.

It is not important to us to have a 5 star suite (although we have been very lucky to be comped into some very "sweet suites". Bally's & Paris do well for us. We also don't dine high-end.....$60 for hubby & I is about it. Don't misunderstand.....we do enjoy good food but will use Restaurant.com certificates or my Diamond $100 voucher.....we are just not going to spend hundreds on a meal. We sometimes even share if we can agree on an entrée. We would definitely favor increasing our gambling budget instead of eating it.....lol. Now, our daughter & son-in-law are a different story! I made sure they had the big comps from the CET promo for 2 years & they spent it on food & side-by-side massages. Last year the daughter insisted that she & I do the "Fire & Ice Pedicures" at the Paris Spa. Very nice but.....$130 for a pedicure? Not again.... What can I say.... we are in LV mainly to gamble & enjoy ourselves for a week twice a year. That is our splurge!! :)

I would say our splurge would have to be show tickets. Hell, we don't even go to the movies here at home, but will spend almost $100 on a ticket for a show in Las Vegas.

Oh, and I did a splurge for myself once and treated myself to Bally's Sterling Brunch while the spouse grabbed a burger or something somewhere else..LOL

If I'm ahead, betting $200 on the hard eight on the last roll for the night. That usually calls for a stop at the bar, to counter the adrenalin, on the way back to the room. Win or loose.
